THE END OF THE WORLD!
~ Dante's dreaded egomaniacal catchphrase obsessing over the end of the world
PREVIOUSLY ON 101 DALMATIAN STREET!
~ Dante breaking the fourth wall being self-aware of his life on "A Summer To Remember".
Dante Dalmatian is one of the reoccurring characters in the 2018 Disney+ UK TV Series 101 Dalmatian Street.
A notable distinction of the physical attributes of Dante is that unlike some of the other Dalmatian Family he appears to have black fur. He is drawn and animated in a gray outline, which also applies for the nose, eye brow, wrinkles, mouth, choke-collar, and other parts of his body when drawing him. This detail is likely done possibly due to the dark value tone of his fur being incredibly dark warranting enough of the reason for the choice to draw Dante’s design in grayish outlines throughout the most part until close ups. His appearance also inherits spots much like his Dalmatian family members. He has four on the left part of his ear, and on the top of his head, and on his body, while having four purple spots placed on his right ear. He also has a grey choke collar with white spikes, as well as reddish pink eye baggy eye lids at the bottom of his eyes which are drawn still the same way as the other Dalmatians of black and white.
He has a very surprising personality often yelling random outbursts going up to the camera shouting things like "Doomsday", or "THE END OF THE WORLD!" in a very enthusiastic way. Some of the episodes he could be very helpful towards Dylan while being outright the opposite like on particular episodes like episode 12 "Crushed Out" where supposedly helps Dylan with the help of Fergus impress Portia but the whole thing backfiring leading to the two along with Portia's sidekick friend Spencer having Dylan not be himself in order for Portia to no longer fall in love with him in the most obsessive crazy stalkerish way. Also, in episodes like"Cursed of the Ferrydog" where he orchestrates a prank with the help of Portia and Spencer onto Dylan but eventually helped Dylan snap out of believing the prank that Portia wanted Dylan to keep believing was real.
On Episode 3 titled "Power to the Puppies", due to Dylan not being able to lead the Dalmatian Pups leading to Diesel going out of control merely destroying the house Dylan's sister Dolly and Dante help remind him about the ruckus and obstruction Diesel was causing.
On Episode 12 titled "Crushed Out", him and Fergus tries to help Dylan romantically impress Portia Poodle. However, this backfires due to Portia Poodle eventually becoming overly obsessive for Dylan's alter-ego as "Danny" as Portia has mistaken him for such.
On Episode 25-26 titled "A Summer To Remember" (a two part episode), Dante on multiple occasions would actively warn Dylan and the others about Bessie The Cornish Cow on numerous occasions before Bessie would cause any possible harm among not just Dylan but the rest of the Dalmatians. Eventually he told Dylan about it leading to Dylan's surprise and Dante saying that he told him so.
On Episode 35 titled "Cursed of the Ferrydog", he does try to help have Dylan snap out of his obsession over thinking a three headed Ferrydog named "Cerberus". Although, he initially started a prank started with none other than Spencer and Portia. Portia took the prank too far and Dante wanted to stop it before any further humiliation from Dylan would be inflicted towards him.
In Episode 39 titled under his name "Dante's Inferno" he warns about Hunter showing back up after seeing Cuddles.
Much like with Portia's appearance of her design, it may be possible that Dante's appearance may have been heavily based upon the 1962 cartoon film titled One Hundred and One Dalmatians at the very start of the prologue when Pongo was seeking for a Dog wife Perdita and a a human wife for Rodger Radciffe being Anita Radciffle.
He is self-aware he is in a cartoon with:
Him constantly going up on the screen in the many various episodes to talk about either "The End of the World" or yelling "Doomsday" in front of the screen on various occasions.
On Episode 26 titled "A Summer To Remember: Part 2" he does breaks the fourth wall yelling out loud "PREVIOUSLY ON 101 DALMATIAN STREET!".
As well on Episode 52 "The Devil Wears Puppies" of him saying the same thing "Previously on 101 Dalmatian Street..."
