Dante is the main protagonist of Project Moon's 2024 turn-based-stragety science fantasy game Limbus Company. The 10th Sinner and the manager of the employees, Dante serves as the overseer of his own department within the Company.
He was the only main character to never voiced by anyone in particular.
Personality[]
Dante starts as a quiet, passive manager, struggling to control the Sinners due to their lack of confidence and combat ability. Initially reliant on Ishmael and Outis for maintaining order, they gradually earn the group's respect and assume true leadership.
Once intimidated by violent Sinners like Heathcliff, Dante grows more assertive, shifting from a mere bystander in Canto I to actively guiding Ishmael in Canto V. Despite their development, they retain a lighthearted side, often joking about their clockhead and displaying occasional cunning.
Their past remains a mystery, though hints suggest they were once influential. However, no concrete details have surfaced about their life before amnesia.

- Dante's name originates from the protagonist of Dante’s Inferno and The Divine Comedy, both named after the poet Dante Alighieri. Their full name, Durante, is also Alighieri’s baptismal name.
- Durante comes from the Latin Durans or Durantis, meaning “to endure”—a fitting reference to Dante’s role in bearing the Sinners’ pain and reviving them from death. Additionally, durante in Italian means “during” or “long-lasting,” likely tying into their clock motif and ability to rewind time.
