The Dark Aether Crew appear briefly in the 2024 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and are a playable faction in the 2025 sequel shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
Biography[]
Foundment[]
In 1591, Takeo Masaki was transported to the Dark Aether, and later in 1945 Edward Richtofen, thus formally founding the crew. In 1968 and 1984, Tank Dempsey and Nikolai Belinski were transported as well and they decided to hold up at the Project Janus headquarters.
Black Ops 6[]
On February 28th, 1991 the Ex-Requiem crew were brought to the Dark Aether, with the Dark Aether crew introducing themselves. However, just then a mysterious person self-nicknamed "The Warden" arrived and stole their Spiritus, and summoned a massive zombie horde to kill them. Thankfully, they managed to kill the horde and escape the facility alongside Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie Carver, Elizabeth Grey and Maya Aguinaldo.
Black Ops 7[]
Later, they fought their way alongside the Ex-Requiem Crew, and discovered both Klaus and T.E.D.D.. During their exploration, Dempsey discovered his dog tags during his time in his universe's Vietnam War, and was inducted into a hallucinational nightmare conducted by Veytharion, before escaping it. They were later contacted by an entity, who told them to find and free Veytharion. Upon freeing him, Veytharion gave both Dempsey and Maya their spiritus back, with both of them receiving their memories.
