Darnell is the deuteragonist of the Pico series and a major character in Friday Night Funkin', serving as the main antagonist for WeekEnd 1. He is a former high school student and pyromaniac with super-genius level intelligence and an affinity for burning things. He is the best friend of Pico and Nene. Despite being a protagonist, however, he has a sadistic side.
In Friday Night Funkin', he is voiced by IvanAlmighty.
Appearance[]
He is 17-19 year old black teen with a purple shirt with yellow sleeves, blue jeans, red shoes, and tall black hair that goes up into a sharp arc to the right, and white eyes with no pupils. In Friday Night Funkin', his appearance is the same except for the fact his hair is purple, he wears a hoodie and not a shirt, has headphones around his neck, and white shoes with yellow laces and purple soles.
Personality[]
He is a pyromaniac who is willing to burn everything he sees just for sadistic joy, including hundreds of firefighters. Despite this, he is shown to genuinely care about his friends and will protect them from enemy fire, as well as the school he went to, especially Pico and Nene.
In Friday Night Funkin', he, along with Nene, is shown to be less loyal to his friends. This is demonstrated when the duo attempt to kill Pico after the latter refuses to kill Boyfriend. This also shows a much more greedy and selfish side to him.

Not much is known about Darnell's past other than he became friends with Pico and Nene.
Darnell Plays With Fire[]
He is shown in his sadistic side here, where he kills hundreds of firemen for sadistic enjoyment before being killed by God with a flamethrower and going to Hell, only to enjoy it because of the fire.

He is shown at Pico's side when in major roles.
Friday Night Funkin'[]
In Red Snow, the fifth week, he is seen in the background of "Cocoa and "Eggnog", but he does not appear in "Winter Horrorland" when the monster appears.
In WeekEnd 1, he serves as the opponent and the main antagonist. At some point, Darnell, Nene, and Pico are approached by Daddy Dearest. After Pico's initial failure to kill Boyfriend in Week 3, the father still wants the young rapper dead, so he pays the three large amounts of money to exterminate him. At the start of the week, Darnell is shown to be doing graffiti on a wall before Pico runs into him. After 3 songs, they get into a fist fight when the former runs out of lighter fluid and the latter runs out of bullets. The fight ends in a draw, with the two making up and becoming friends again.

- Darnell has a migraine.
- He has an IQ of 241, making him the smartest amongst his friends.
- Despite being one of the main characters of the series and Pico's best friend, he is arguably the most heinous villain in the Pico series, seeing as he's killed hundreds of innocent people out of sheer boredom and felt no remorse for it.
- In WeekEnd 1, he's shown kicking flammable spray-cans at Pico, and missing causes you to lose health.
