Darunia is an intelligence officer of the Akuma Clan and a supporting protagonist in Akumaizer 3. She has a crush on the leader of the Akumaizer 3, Xavitan, and seeks to help him in his quest to reform the Akuma Clan.
Her main weapon is a multi-barreled pistol that can transform into a Jankler sword.
She is voiced by Rihoko Yoshida. Her suit actress is Yuri Hidaka.
Biography[]
Darunia was the younger daughter of the Downworld minister Bagoda. Her older sister Majoruka was a high-ranking commander in the Akuma Clan's invasion of the surface. Darunia meanwhile fell in love with Xavitan after he staged a rebellion against the Akuma Clan and sought to assist him in his uprising to reform the Akuma Clan. However, to ensure her and her sister's loyalty, Mezalord had installed "Twin Demon Circuits" inside both of their heads that would kill the other sister if either of them defied the Akuma Clan, meaning Darunia could not assist the Akumaizer 3 openly.
Darunia initially aided the Akumaizer 3 in their battles against the Akuma Clan Captains under the guise of wanting to see a fair fight between them. She would often intervene whenever an Akuma Clan Captain did something underhanded, such as taking children hostage, and would stop them so the Akumaizer 3 wouldn't have to hold back when they fought.
Mezalord would later send Darunia's own sister Majoruka to oversee an operation to scorch Japan by combining two liquids together that would create flames if mixed. Darunia intervened in a fight between the Akumaizer 3 and Majoruka to rescue her sister. In private, Darunia pleaded with her sister to stop, but Majoruka refused and told Darunia that she already knew why she must fight. Darunia then discovered that Jun Nagisa had overheard their conversation and pleaded with her not to tell Xavitan, as she was worried that if he knew he would hold back when fighting Majoruka and perish.
Despite this, Xavitan had already figured out that Majoruka was Darunia's sister and chose to keep on fighting her anyway. Mezalord would then appear and reveal the Twin Demon Circuits he had implanted in Darunia and Majoruka's heads, before forcing both of them to fight the Akumaizer 3. During the battle, Mezalord made Majoruka fire her Super Missile at the Akumaizer 3 while they were battling Darunia, but Xavitan deflected the attack and fatally wounded her. Majoruka would then allow herself to die so Darunia would be free of Mezalord's influence, asking the Akumaizer 3 to take care of her younger sister for her. Not having to worry about her sister anymore, Darunia was free to ally with the Akumaizer 3 and assist them in their campaign.
