David Is A child-like android mecha uniquely programmed with the ability for love and he's the main character of A.I. Artificial Intelligence Movie. After he was abandoned by Monica he and robotic teddy bear, named Teddy befriended Gigolo Joe to go on a quest to find the Blue Fairy who can turn him into a real boy just like Pinocchio. He was portrayed by Haley Joel Osment who also plays Zephyr from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame II, Mowgli from Disney's The Jungle Book 2, Sora from Kingdom Heart series, and Beary Barrington from Disney's The Country Bears.

David is given to Henry Swinton and his wife Monica, whose son Martin, after contracting a rare disease, has been placed in suspended animation and is not expected to recover. Monica feels uneasy with David, but eventually warms to him and activates his imprinting protocol, causing him to have an enduring childlike love for her. David is befriended by Teddy, a robotic teddy bear that belonged to Martin.
