Dayakka Littner is a supporting protagonist in the anime series Gurren Lagann. He is the former leader of Littner Village and a member of Team Dai-Gurren, serving first as the pilot of a Gunman called the Dayakkaiser, and then as the captain of the Dai-Gurren. After the timeskip, he is Kiyoh Bachika’s husband and the father of her child and works as a member of Kamina City’s government.
He is voiced by Daiki Nakamura in the Japanese version (who also voiced Welfin from Hunter x Hunter) and Doug Stone in the English version.
Appearance[]
Dayakka is a tall man with a muscular build and a square face. He has fairly tanned skin, dark green hair and black eyes. Before the timeskip, he wears a sleeveless, tight-fitting white shirt and denim pants. Seven years later, his hair appears to be a bit shorter and he wears the uniform of Kamina City’s government officials, blue with a red tie and two stars. During the fight against the Anti-Spiral’s army, he wears his new captain suit, green and blue with red star patterns.
Personality[]
Dayakka is earnest and brave. He is often quiet and focused on his objectives, though he enjoys having fun and spending time with his friends and companions. He has the will and charisma of a leader, serving as the captain of the Dai-Gurren and later of the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren.
He is shown to be eager to fight for freedom, as he is one of the first humans to be inspired by Kamina to rally Team Dai-Gurren on his own, and he cries with thankfulness when Kiyoh allows him to go fight the Anti-Spiral after the timeskip.
He is also a very loving husband and father, willing to put the safety of his family before all else and expressing his happiness of having married Kiyoh when he finally decides to leave for space.
