Decepticons is a group of protagonist characters in Shattered Glass Universe, where Decepticons are heroic while Autobots are the villainous. They served as major protagonists through out the story.
History[]
Original timeline version[]
Just like the original universe version, the Decepticons faction was founded by Megatronus Prime. But the difference here is, Megatronus never corrupted into darkside, instead he became great mentor figure for the Cybertronian race throughout millennia. Despite his teaching however, Megatronus has an eternal rivalry with Alpha Trion, because both have different visions and missions for the future of Cybertron. Several hundred years later, Megatronus begat a descendant successor named Gladiator Megatronus. Due to being under Megatronus' teachings, Gladiator Megatronus grew up to be an honorable gladiator fighter in Planet Cybertron. Initially Gladiator Megatronus had good friendship with Orion Pax, until Orion Pax's dark path corruption as Optimus Prime shattered friendship, which then became great war between the factions.
Rebooted timeline version[]
In the rebooted timeline version, their story is more or less still the same as the original timeline version. But the difference here is that the Decepticons have one more great mentor named the "Nova Prime", which is becomes distinct character with Optimus Prime than in the original story. Nova Prime is responsible for saving the lives of Megatron and Soundwave after the latter two were mortally wounded by Autobots' ambush attacks, by transforming them into Galvatron and Soundblaster. Like Megatronus Prime, Nova Prime often gives direction and advice to the Decepticons, about power is nothing without a wisdom and honor of life.

- Megatron from this continuity was marked being the first Megatron heroic incarnation.
- Unlike most of Starscream's incarnations being backstabbing traitor, these Starscream incarnation shows an honor and loyalty towards his leader.
- The Shattered Glass Universe also introduced the concept of a multi-universe, where characters such as Cliffjumper, Ultra Magnus, and Grimlock from original universe appears as supporters protagonists.
