Decim is the male main protagonist of the original 2015 anime series Death Parade. He is the bartender of the bar known as Quindecim as well as the arbiter of dead. His job is to judge people’s soul by letting them playing games against each others which he normally has two guest at his bar. The souls that he judges are then sent to the void or be reincarnated.
He is voiced by Tomoaki Maeno in Japanese and by Alex Organ in English.
Appearance[]
Decim appears as a young man in his 20s with long white hair that arrives at his ears on his left side with his right side covering his eyes and appears long down to the chin. He has cross shaped blue pupils. He is always seen in his bartender black uniform that consist of a white sleeved shirt with a red bow tie, black pants, shoes and he also has a white and black pin on his left side.
Personality[]
As the arbiter of death, Decim is a very serious and humble man in his job and has not displayed any emotions until the end of the anime. He thinks that everyone has the right to be judged. Which was shown when he felt sorry when he sent Machiko to the void and thinking that he made the wrong decision as an arbiter. However if something startling happens he will displays some sign of being surprised. When interact with his guests, he rather not share any feelings at them and talks in a very formal and disconnected way. Despite that he is very polite and respectful to his guests, mainly to those who have lived the life at their best.
He struggles to displays emotions even though he has worked in the Quindecim for over 5 years, to which he can not understand Machiko’s emotions upon meeting her. He becomes surprised when Machiko explained him her opinion as he felt shameful of his occupation. With his experience as the arbiter he does however developed cares to his guests, as he congragulates them at them and even hugs them despite still keeping a straight face. He tends sometime to make jokes sometimes however which fails to work. At some time he had to cancel the game between the guest due to him not receiving any memories from them, but still continue the game despite that. With his time that he spend with Chiyuki, he tries his best to learn more about emotions and her opinions.
Decim dislikes violence causing him to cover his eyes whenever a fights happens like when Ginti was attacked by Nona. He also stated that he does not often engage in a fight mainly with Ginti who tried to start fight with him in the past. Nevertheless whenever someone insults those that he cares which making him to become irritated.
Abilities[]
Thread Manipulation/Filukinesis: Decim has the unique ability to create and control threads that he can uses to moves and restrains his customers whenever they tries to start fight against each others. These threads are strong enough to pull many object and throw them toward anywheres he wants including peoples and even liquids. He displayed this impressive ability against his battle with Ginti who sended several water balls at him to which Decim could stop the balls and send them back at Ginti. He later on threw objects like chairs at Ginti and was also able to to stick on Ginti’s arm that was strong enough to send him across the room.

- His name "Decim" means 15 in Latin being an abbreviated form of the name of the bar he works at "Quindecim" which is also on the 15th floor.
