Defiant Dragons logo

The Defiant Dragons is a resistance group fighting against the corrupt monarchy and legal system of the country of Khura'in. They were lead by former defense attorney, Dhurke Sahdmadi, until his death at the hands of Minister of Justice Inga. However this did not prevent the resistance from ultimately being successful in its goal of revolution, with Dhurke's adoptive son, Apollo Justice, dethroning the tyrannical dictator Ga'ran in court, as well as turning most of the corrupt and twisted laws of the country void. The resistance still exists in some form, although it's current leader is unknown.

Goals and beliefs[]

Their main goal is to form a Khura'in with a fair and honest legal system. To do this, they aimed to dethrone the current Queen, Ga'ran. One of the major driving forces behind their beliefs is the "Defense Culpability Act", a law that dictates that should a suspect be tried and found guilty, those who supported said suspect will be given the same sentence as them. This act caused defense attorneys to be get executed, thrown in jail, and to flee the country, in mass, leading to it becoming a dead profession. Thus, trials in Khura'in are almost always conducted without an attorney present, which has led to 23 years without a single not-guilty verdict. This was in combination with the Divination Seances, in which a priestess reveals a victim's final memories before their death. Prior to supposed assassination of the previous queen, and the initiation of the DC Act, the meanings behind the visions were debated over by the attorney and prosecutor. However, eventually the visions began to be seen as nothing but definitive proof against the accused, with questioning the insights being deemed as blasphemous.

General public's perspective

The Defiant Dragons wished for the system as it once was. The official stance by the group was to achieve this with as little bloodshed as possible, which was the want of Dhurke and those close to them. There were those who ran on their own, however Dhurke and those who represented the group never endorsed violent means. Despite this, the government painted the group as a violent terrorist group, using propaganda to plaint the idea that they are villainous into people's heads. This included making the villains on the popular kid's show "The Plumed Punisher" based around them, as well as framing members, thus those who even sympathized with the resistance for various crimes. This caused the public's perspective of the Defiant Dragons to be that they are vicious terrorists, lead by a horrific, evil leader.

The government also eventually began using a trained Rebel Hunter to kill rebels. The public saw the rebel hunter as a hero who was eliminating dangerous people, however in reality the hunter was just an excuse for the government and the Justice Minister to murder any rebels they wanted to, dressing it up as eliminating threats to the country.
