Dennis "Cutty" Wise is a major character in the third and fourth seasons of the HBO series The Wire, and a minor character in the fifth season. He is a former enforcer for the Barksdale Organization who, after reforming, runs a boxing gym for at-risk youth in Baltimore.
He is portrayed by Chad Coleman.

Background[]
Cutty was an enforcer for the Barksdale Organization who murdered Elijah Davis, a rival gangster, in the 1990. He phoned the police at the crime scene and was sentenced to fourteen years in prison for the murder. He served time in the Jessup Maryland Correctional Institute, the same prison that housed Barksdale Organization leader Avon Barksdale and head enforcer Wee-Bey.
