Desmond's Mom is a minor character in Smiling Friends who makes her sole appearance in the episode "Desmond's Big Day Out." She is the mother of Desmond, whom she contacts Pim and Charlie of the Smiling Friends on behalf of in order to make him happy.
She is voiced by series' co-creator Zach Hadel, who also voices Charlie, Glep, Gwimbly, Charlie's grandmother, Plilford, the Century Egg, and the Homunculus in the same show.
Appearance[]
She is a rather chubby, elderly woman with curly black hair and pale, wrinkly white skin. She has sharp nails and a bulbous head.
She wears a floral-esque green dress, glasses, and pink socks.
Personality[]
She seems to be a sweet old mother, as she cares about her child and wants to see him smile, even letting him stay at her house despite his relatively old age and lack of ambition. She is also very kind and thankful towards others and is fine inviting people inside her home, such as Pim and Charlie. Despite this, she exhibits some mildly eccentric traits, such as screaming unnecessarily and hurriedly moving her feet when she walks.
Biography[]
We only know that she is the mother of Desmond, whom she apparently lives alone with, and that their home address begins with "8501 West Tyson" and is located in Pennsylvania. After Desmond lost his wife, kids, and dogs, she apparently let him live at her house, and would later contact the Smiling Friends in order to fix his "mopey" state.
When Pim and Charlie arrive, she gratefully invites them into her house and knocks on Desmond's door to introduce them.
