Chasing Garrotte

In Seattle, after three years of chasing a serial killer named Edward "The Torch" Garrotte, Jake Riley rescues a baby, that Garrotte left behind after killing a mother, and escapes through the window. Inside the bus where Garrotte hides, Jake showed to be a cop in front of the passengers. While Jake explains to a bus driver outside, Garrotte, showing himself, holds-up passengers. The detective pursues the killer, but then lost him. While Jake is searching in the parking, Garrotte starts the car, hits Jake's foot and hand and escapes by saying him "goodbye".

Quotes

Male Reporter: Detective Jake Riley, who had headed up the case had this to say about The Torch?

Jake: No comment.

Female reporter: Has he called you yet?

Jake: No comment.

Male reporter: Is this brilliant killer the reason you're quiting?

Jake: I'm retiring for personal reasons. The case has nothing to do with it.

Female reporter: Give us something.

Jake: Yeah, i'll give you something. It turns out that our big bad boogeyman is nothing more than a bed-wetting mama's boy. That's right, he pisses himself all the night. Pathetic, really. Just a sick pervert. Is that enough for you? Did you get that? Did you get that? Did you get that?

~ Reporters commenting on Jake about Garrotte on TV.
Garrotte: That was a nasty thing you said about me on TV, Jake.

Jake: Oh yeah? Well, you're just a little too sensitive. I don't want you to call me anymore. I'm retired.

Garrotte: You can quit, but you'll never get rid of me. I'm too smart.

Jake: Yeah, mommy must be proud of her little psycho.

Garrotte: Stop it, Jake. Look at yourself. Three years trying to catch me, but you failed. You're a bad cop. Do you think quitting would stop me? I'm going to keep on killing, a******. You're a real loser.

Jake: Hey, f*** you, you f****** p*****! I'm gonna track you down like a f****** dog! You understand, you son of a b****?! Fuck you!

Garrotte: F*** you too, Jake.

~ Jake getting increasingly angry on Garrotte phoning him meanwhile.
