She is a member of the NYPD that secretly enlists Spider-Man's help in exposing the Dirty Cops in the department, though she doesn't like Spider-Man and vigilantes in general, Spider-Man doesn't need a warrant so he is the only one who could help her.
She uses a fake distress call to lure Spider-Man to a secluded rooftop. She then introduces herself to Spider-Man and tells him she needs his help and that, unofficially, the order of the Dragon Tails are using the warehouse to run guns into the city, and that judge won't okay a warrant so she can't touch them while Spider-Man doesn't need a warrant, Spider-Man agrees to help her, then DeWolfe makes it clear to Spider-Man that she doesn't like vigilantes so she and Spider-Man are not a team, but they just happen to be fighting the same bad guys, then tells Spider-Man that before he takes place apart, get some evidence like a picture so it makes charges stick when the police show up to "investigate the disturbance," then orders Spider-Man to don't mess it up, she then leaves, later, when Spider-Man returns to her.
DeWolfe tells Spider-Man that he did a good job, that the photo is really going to help the case and that he could always get a job taking pictures for the Daily Bugle. Then Spider-Man tells her that he will keep that in mind; sometime later, Spider-Man meets with DeWolfe again, and Spider-Man tells her how's tricks. DeWolfe tells him that it could be worse and that she just discovered Dirty Cops in the department; one or two would be bad enough, but it looks like the apartments are infested with them that she overheard about the business meeting with one of the local gangs (which turns out to be the Arsenic Candy gang), and that it might be a payoff, so she wants Spider-Man to break it up and get her evidence to nail them, she doesn't know the details but they definitely mentioned the toy factory. Then, she says to Spider-Man that it sounds like a good place to start; Spider-Man tells her he will check it out and then tells her to watch her back. DeWolfe then tells him that she can take care of herself, she then leaves, Spider-Man comes back to her. DeWolfe then tells her that she owes him for catching these Dirty Cops, then says she hopes she can get one of them to crack and throw all of the other trash out of the department. Spider-Man then tells her that he is glad to help tidy up, DeWolfe then leaves.
Later, Spider-Man meets with her, telling her that this Mad Bomber got us all working overtime. DeWolfe then tells Spider-Man that she has been at it 24/7, and she still has no lead on who the Mad Bomber is, that they need to catch a break and quick, then her radio goes off, saying that the Mad Bomber's men are reported at the George Washington Bridge. Spider-Man then prepares to go there; DeWolfe then tells Spider-Man that she will get the bomb squad to back him up and tells him to be careful; later, Spider-Man meets with her again, asking if she needs a hand and that he is kind of between supervillains at the moment. DeWolfe then tells Spider-Man that she got an anonymous invitation to a business meeting. She then tells Spider-Man that she thinks the Dirty Cops are on to her and that it is set up. Spider-Man then tells DeWolfe that it sounds like she needs some backup. DeWolfe then tells Spider-Man to stay close, don't let himself get spotted, get as much evidence as he can, and bail her out when things get ugly.
After Spider-Man takes pictures of all of the Dirty Cops, DeWolfe arrives in a taxi; she then sprints to the meeting; a Dirty Cop then shoots her, Spider-Man concerned for DeWolfe, jumps in to take down the Dirty Cops. One Dirty Cop puts DeWolfe in a police car, to drive her into the sea to kill her, Spider-Man then lands on the car, the Dirty Cop jumps out, the car flies off the ramp, but Spider-Man manages to save DeWolfe, Spider-Man then shakes DeWolfe, telling her to say something. DeWolfe then wakes up, telling him to stop shaking her. She is wounded, not dead. She then tells Spider-Man that his work here is done, the department is cleaned up for good and that she couldn't have done it without him. Then, she thanks him and tells him to better go, and that it wouldn't look right, a cop and a masked vigilante hanging together, even if they make a good team; Spider-Man then asks DeWolfe if she ever needs to him, and DeWolfe tells him she will just cry wolf, Spider-Man then leaves.
