Devon Lee is a major character in the YouTube Red/Netflix series Cobra Kai.
She is a competitive and quick-tempered student of West Valley High School. She joins Eagle Fang Karate and trains under sensei Johnny Lawrence to represent them in the girls division of the All Valley Tournament.
She is portrayed by Oona O'Brien.

Season 4[]
Devon is a member of the debate team at West Valley High School. During a heated debate about the death penalty she angrily storms over to her opponent, rips his book cover off, and yells to the crowd. This event lead to Devon being recruited into Eagle Fang Karate by Johnny Lawrence, at the recommendation of Bert.
Much to Eagle Fang's surprise, she is a fast learner in the sport and quickly advances in her training. On one occasion, Devon kicks her classmates, including Mitch and Bert, in the groin. Despite her newness, she competes in that years All Valley Karate Tournament where she shows her board breaking abilities to the crowd during the skills competition and represented Eagle Fang at the girls division. Devon makes it to the quarterfinals of the girls tournament, where she fights Cobra Kai legend Tory Nichols, who is more trained and a better fighter. Devon is eliminated in the first round within a minute.
Despite her loss, she thinks she did pretty well for only having trained a couple weeks and that by next year she'll be more than ready to try again. Now eliminated, Devon helps Johnny navigate the mathematical odds of their dojo winning. When Miguel hurts his back in a match, Eagle Fang is eliminated from the tournament.
Season 5[]
Devon and the Eagle Fangs are spending their summer at a water park. However, the feud between Miyagi-Do, Cobra Kai and Eagle Fang escalates when Tory and Hawk race each other. As a result, the students are kicked out the park.
Because Eagle Fang closed as part of the bet, Devon joins Topanga Karate. Her sensei tells the students that they are now managed by Cobra Kai. Tory Nichols has a rematch with Devon and easily defeats her, causing her to quit. Wanting another chance, she joins Cobra Kai. She and Tory are chosen to spar against Sensei Kim but the two fail and Sensei Kim chastises the two.
Learning of the Sekai Taikai tournament, Devon is chosen to spar with Miyagi-Do student Samantha LaRusso but is easily defeated.
The Cobra Kai students learn that Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang entered the dojo to find evidence on Terry Silver and they confront the other students. Devon is surprised that Tory is working with the two dojos but she tells her that she isn't interested in Silver's teachings. During the fight, she betrays Cobra Kai when she tells Sam to save Anthony. After, she and Tory fight Sensei Kim, mimicking the lesson she taught.
Season 6[]
In the aftermath of Silver's arrest, Devon joins the combined dojo. She arrives on her first day of school with Tory but leaves her alone after she has a moment with Robby Keene. At Miyagi-Do, she spars with Chris, Bert, and Nate where Mitch arrives. However, they are upset over Mitch's betrayal but make up with him after he promised not to make any more heel turns by showing his half Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang shirt he's wearing.
While training, she is surprised with Miguel and Robby after she notices Sam and Tory being friends. She approaches Johnny where he explains their sloppy moves and that he will get them back on track. Johnny tells her that she'll be having a sleepover at her house. At night, Devon hosts a slumber party to get Sam and Tory back on track. The sleepover goes well and the chemistry between Tory, Sam and Devon is developing well. To get Sam and Tory to fight again, Johnny, who secretly stole Miguel and Robby's phone, catfishes them. The two confront Johnny and Devon about the whole situation and decide to leave the Lee residence. Later, when Johnny and Devon head outside of her house, they see Sam and Tory hugging after they had an argument and reconciled. Johnny feels that it ended in failure, but Devon but assures him that it isn't the end of the world. The next day, back at Miyagi-Do, Sam and Tory's fighting skills are back on track and Devon reveals that their friendliness with each other was making them sloppy praises Johnny for his methods. Shortly, Hawk shows a video of Gunther revealing that the tournament will take place is in Barcelona, Spain. However, he explains the selection process and that each dojo would need to pick six fighters, much to the disappointment of the students.
Following the announcement, Devon joins her classmates preparing for the Sekai Taikai. At school, Devon, Anthony, and Kenny vent that they want to go to Barcelona. Before the tournament, Mike Barnes has the students undergo rigorous training processes. After the first session, Devon is one of the twelve students who moves on to the next round. However, she ends up in a tiebreaker with Kenny, Hawk and Demetri, and races them in order to win a spot in the tournament. While Devon and Kenny are racing, Kenny gets constipated and has to run to the bathroom. Devon runs back with the yellow flag. She and Demetri qualify for the last two spots, but, unbeknownst to the others, she had taken Mitch's laxatives and put them in Kenny's water bottle, causing him to get constipated which he blames Anthony for it. Devon begins to feel guilty about it and when Johnny approaches and congratulates her for getting a spot, she nervously leaves.
Back at the dojo, Devon asks about Kenny's whereabouts. Anthony replies that he hasn't been seen since he got constipated in the woods with Mitch jokingly assuming that Kenny's cleaning up his pants. Later, Devon watches the fight between Miguel and Robby for male captain. When Tory later arrives during the match, Devon catches her up that Miguel got the the first two points and she sees that she's not looking well, but Tory says she's fine and wants to fight for female captain. During Sam and Tory's match, Daniel stops the fight where Tory reveals to everyone that her mother died, where Devon and everyone are shock to hear what Tory's been going through. Tory then angrily leaves the team which results with Sam becoming female captain by forfeit and Hawk taking her spot.
Devon goes with Miguel, Robby, Sam, Hawk, Demetri, Johnny, and Daniel to Barcelona to compete in the Sekai Taikai. While getting ready, they see the new Cobra Kai, led by John Kreese and Kim Da-Eun and their fellow students, led by Kwon Jae-Sung. Shortly, Tory appears with them, revealing that she has rejoined Cobra Kai, much to Devon and Miyagi-Do's shock.
In their hotel, Sam and Devon are roommates and they talk about Tory's defection. At the Barcelona Aquarium, Devon and Tory talk about her decision before the latter talks to Sam. At their hotel room, Devon and Miyagi-Do confronts Robby about how he knew about John Kreese talking to Tory back home. He counters that this was before her mother's death and she initially rejected his offer. On the first day of the tournament, Miyagi-Do participates in a Captain’s War fight against Cobra Kai, Iron Dragons, and the Italian dojo, Falchi Della Notte. Miyagi-Do loses due to Robby being unfocused about Tory before they watch Cobra Kai being defeated by the Iron Dragons.
Miyagi-Do then struggles on the next several rounds. While Sam and Devon are in the elevator discussing about their sensei’s, they encounter Iron Dragon student, Zara Malik, who was doing her livestream. With Daniel gone to investigate Mr. Miyagi's past, Johnny takes the lead with him telling the students to use more offense. At the next event, the first batch of Miyagi-Do students fight in the platform rounds, but they lose. Despite Miguel’s victory, Miyagi-Do is still in the bottom of the rankings. In the locker room, Johnny berates the students for not advancing. Later, Devon talks to Johnny where she admits that she spiked Kenny's water in order to earn a spot in the tournament. She adds how wrong it was for her to do that as she's been wanting to compete only for her to struggle in the matches. Johnny then tells her to regain focus and not regret. He also tells her how she'll come clean about Kenny before the two share a hug. In the next event, Miyagi-Do fights the Dublin Thunders with Johnny allowing them to use Daniel's teachings. Devon improves her skills when she successfully knocks out an opponent before she knocks their captain, Cara, along with herself off the platform and Johnny praises her. Miyagi-Do advances after Miguel takes out the last two Dublin Thunders.
While Miguel and Johnny head back to LA to check on Carmen's pregnancy situation, Devon and the Miyagi-Do students head to a bar at night with Hawk telling her that Kenny's going to replace Miguel. On their way back to their hotel room, when Hawk says he needed Demetri to learn accountability, Devon takes this to heart and calls Kenny who's currently making up with Anthony. She apologizes to Kenny about spiking his water and he tells her that they’ll talk more about when he gets there.
The next day, Devon and Miyagi-Do learns from Daniel and Chozen about Terry Silver's return and that he owns the Iron Dragons. They informs this to Miguel and Johnny when they arrive back with Kenny. Kenny forgives Devon for the laxative incident and he admits that they were always cool with each other both at Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do. With Miguel back, Kenny takes her spot with Devon spending the rest of the tournament standing with Johnny, Daniel, and Chozen while supporting the team. With Kenny getting Miyagi-Do back on track and Robby improving his leadership, they successfully win their match against the Brazilian dojo, Redentores. Devon and the students have a talk in the locker room about the finals being the last time fighting together as a team. She gets emotional as Hawk and Demetri reconcile before they and Miguel hug as a group. Thanks to a rejuvenated Robby, the students regain focus. Miyagi-Do advances to the semifinals after defeating Cobra Kai.
At the hotel, Miyagi-Do learns about Cobra Kai's reinstatement following the disqualification of the Russian dojo, Tiger Strike. However, during the match between Robby and Iron Dragon student, Axel Kovacevic, Kwon cheap shots Robby which lead the Tiger Strike sensei’s to start an all-out brawl between the dojos. During the fight, Devon and Kenny team up to fight the Dublin Thunder students. The fight is then stopped when Kwon accidentally impaled himself with Kreese’s knife while he tried to kill Axel much to everyone’s shock.
Personality[]
Devon is highly intelligent and possesses a fierce temper. Both qualities are shown during her debate trial at school, as she gets angry and becomes violent very easily, which impressed sensei Johnny Lawrence. Devon is determined and a hard study, as just before joining Eagle Fang she watched various old martial arts films and even became a fan of Bloodsport. She displays her intelligence on her first day as she corrects Johnny about sensei and student being nouns and also calculates the point progress of the tournament. Devon proudly states at one point that she never makes the same mistake twice.

Devon had no previous karate experience before joining Eagle Fang, but her determined nature allowed her to learn very quickly. In her fight against Tory she shows solid defensive skills but has trouble mounting an offense. Despite this, her technique is very solid given her experience level. During the skills competition she mistimes one of her board breaks, missing with a spinning hook kick. However, it's impressive that at her level of training she was able to perform a spinning hook at all.
