Dewey, called also The Keeper, is a supporting character in Disney Fairies series, who first appears in Secret of the Wings.
He is a winter fairy guardian of the laws of Pixie Hollow, residue in the Winter Woods, speaks with a Dutch accent. He is very friendly and sincere if you know him well, and he is also a great friend of Periwinkle, who is one of the few who call him by his real name.
He is played by Jeff Bennett, who also played Johnny Bravo and Archimedes Q. Porter.
History[]
Secret of the Wings[]
While Dewey is working, Periwinkle visits him to talk about the sparkle of his wings as he watched the animals cross the Winter Woods border. At that moment Tinker Bell, sneaking into the Winter Woods to find out about the sparkle too, having crossed the border (although she couldn't) and wanting to talk to The Keeper too, she starts shining its wings like Peri and the two meet for the first time.
Dewey is thrilled by this, and explains to the two that they are sisters born of the same laugh, when suddenly Lord Milori arrives that he is seriously concerned that a heat fairy is in the Winter Woods because of a book that has mysteriously appeared from the nothing around there, and orders Dewey that if any heat fairy comes to Winter Woods he'll have to send her back where she came from.
Instead of doing this, Dewey allows Tink to stay there for a day with his sister and learn about his world.
That night on a cliff at Peri's house, Tink lights a fire, which breaks the thickness of the ice and Tink is unable to fly because of his coat and falls, luckily Dewey with his pet lynx, Fiona, saves Tink from falling. and decides it's time for Tink to go home, which could be risky, as he risks never seeing Peri again, accompanying her to the border. However, unbeknownst to him, Tink and Peri are already working out a plan to have Peri visit the city of Tink.
So the next day Tink and Peri with an ice machine invented by Tink and his friends allows Peri to go and meet Queen Clarion, however the plan fails and Peri almost loses her wings. Brought to safety in time, Milori tells them they better not see each other again, and the two are left heartbroken.
But when the machine gets out of control, after Milori tries to destroy it by throwing it into the river, it starts creating winter everywhere for Pixie Hollow and the Winter Woods tree loses its power, and Pixie Dust Tree is in danger.
Tink thinks that Peri and her friends can help with their frost to cover him, meanwhile Dewey gathers Lord Milori and an army of frost fairies to cover everything in frost, so that when the ice melts everything is still alive. well.
Eventually, Lord Milori and Queen Clarion realize that keeping Tink and Peri apart was a big mistake and therefore abolish the border law. Dewey is last seen at the party in the Winter Woods where he signs a book to a great admirer of him.
The Pirate Fairy[]
He makes a cameo at the Four Seasons Festival to see the show between the fairies of heat and winter, and is one of the victims Zarina puts to sleep to steal the Blue Pixie Dust.
He is awakened at the end of the film by Tsarina herself and by Tink.
