Dick Gumshoe (Japanese: Keisuke Itonokogiri) is a major character in the Ace Attorney franchise.
He is a major supportive character in the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, a minor character in Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice and one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Kay Faraday) of the Investigations duology.
He is a detective who often serves on cases that lawyers such as the defense attorney Phoenix Wright and prosecutor Miles Edgeworth take on. He also often serves as Edgeworth's main partner.
He is played by Kōji Ishii in the Japanese version, Misato Harukaze in the Musical, and Shunsuke Daito in the live action film. In the anime he was voiced by Masami Iwasaki in the Japanese version and by Bryan Massey in the English dub.
Appearance[]
Gumshoe is shown wearing a green jacket, with black jeans, button-up shirt with an orange tie, and black shoes. He also has a red pencil on his left ear, brown hair and a bandage on his left cheek.
Personality[]
Dick Gumshoe is shown to have a strong, childlike loyalty to his closest friends, especially Miles Edgeworth. Despite Edgeworth cutting his pay and threatening to fire him, he still stays close to Edgeworth. Gumshoe does all that he can to assist Edgeworth in his field investigations. He has helped Phoenix solve many cases, and even temporarily joined the Wright & Co. Law Offices as resident cook. He has also manages to be-friended children's like Pearl Fey and many other easily due to their childish personality.
However despite this, he is shown to be a very optimistic and hard-working person, and is always shown to be courageous and dependable, tirelessly trying to save Maya from a kidnapper, helping Wright solve cases and many more heroic things he has done.
