Thedictabird
Dictabird: Are there six or seven 'I's in "Fliiiiiaaaa..."?

Fred Flintstone: Who said that?
Dictabird: It was I, your Dictabird.
Fred: Dicta-what?
Dictabird: Dictabird! Read my beak! Bawk. "Cliff, let's play golf. We can prioritize, conceptualize, and, erm, tenderize."

~ Dictabird introducing himself to Fred
I should've signed with Disney. They never would've allowed this sort of thing to happen.
~ Dictabird to the audience

The Dictabird is a prehistoric animatronic bird creature in the 1994 adaptation of The Flintstones. He is voiced by the late Harvey Korman.

Biography[]

After Fred Flintstone is promoted as VP of Slate and Co., he moves into his new office and meets the Dictabird. The Dictabird knows everything that happens in the office and is well aware of Cliff Vandercave's sinister plan to frame Fred for embezzlement and tries to warn him to no success.

Cliff eventually tricks Fred into sacking the workers, over the objections of the Dictabird. The bird instructs Fred to read the documents he's signing, but Fred doesn't listen.

When Fred is on the lam, Wilma and Betty Rubble steal the bird from Cliff and he tells the townsfolk of Cliff's plan, clearing Fred's name. Arriving in time before the laid off workers at the quarry were about to hang Fred and Barney, Wilma has him explain the events to the workers, with the Dictabird first demanding an apology from Fred for treating him less as a being and more as equipment.

Unfortunately, Cliff finds out and kidnaps Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, demanding the Dictabird in exchange for their safe return. Fred and Barney confront Cliff at the quarry, where Cliff has tied Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm to a huge machine. Though they hand him the Dictabird, Cliff sets the machine off to stall them. As Cliff tries to escape with the bird, the Dictabird bites him on the hand and Cliff drops him.

After Cliff is defeated, the Dictabird, who informs the police about Cliff's scheme, is put back in the office along with the quarry workers being rehired.
