Djinn was created by Adam Glass and Bernard Chang. She as debuted in: Teen Titans Special #1 (August 2018).
History[]
Djinn, a mysterious figure born 4,000 years ago, is a rare female djinn known as a sila. Back in the day, people built shrines for her and made sacrifices in her name, which caught the attention of Elias, the oldest and most powerful djinn.
Elias, unhappy with how the djinn were controlled by humans, wanted to break free from human dominance. He, along with Djinn and another brother, went to Makkah to find the legendary Stone of Souls, said to have come from Heaven. But when they discovered the stone was guarded by children, Djinn refused to harm them, which infuriated Elias. Showing his true, devilish form, Elias trapped Djinn in her own ring, forcing her to kill the very children she tried to protect. That was just the start of her torment.
For thousands of years, Elias kept hunting for the stone and made Djinn do terrible things. She became a tool for dark deeds, with blood on her hands she could never wash off. A year ago, a compassionate young servant named Dahee stole the ring from his master and set Djinn free. Now she’s on the run, trying to use her powers in small ways to make up for her past. But she knows Elias is still out there, so she has to be careful not to use her powers too much or he might find her.
