The Doctor is a one-shot character in the Netflix TV Show The Dragon Prince. He is veterinarian who meets Ezran and Callum when they came for his help after the egg of the Dragon Prince started dying due to falling on a frozen lake.
He is voiced by Jay Brazeau.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
At some point in his life, the man would become a veterinarian. One day, he would meet Ellis, who showed him a wolf named Ava which she had found stuck on a bear trap. Because of how terribly wounded Ava's paw was, he had no choice but to amputate her.
However, Ellis would be saved by Lujanne, who made an illusion of her paw so that she would survive. Ellis would later inform the Doctor about this.
The Dragon Prince[]
Callum and Ezran would go meet him when they were looking to find a way to help the egg of the Dragon Prince get better after it fell into a frozen lake. The Doctor is seen taking care of a horse before talking to Callum and Ezran, and, due to thinking they were bringing Bait to him to see how he could get better, told them that he could do nothing to help Bait.
They quickly tell him that it was about an egg, whom they lied belonged to a friend named Jofus. Ezran then notices that a horse was traumatized by something he saw, with the Doctor informing them that it was something he saw at the Cursed Caldera, with the Doctor calling it lucky for just being scared.
While talking with Callum and Ezran about the egg, the Doctor came to realize that they were trying to keep information from him, so he told them that the only way he could help them is by telling him the truth. They then reveal the egg of the Dragon Prince, and he starts tabing and putting his ear close to the egg to test its heartbeat.
After seeing that the heartbeat was slow and fainted, the Doctor informed Callum and Ezran that the egg was dying. However, when they were about to leave, the Doctor informs them that they should meet Ellis, since she may know something that could help them due to what happened to Ava in the past. He also informs them that the reason he's telling them reluctantly is because it would be dangerous for them, as to help the egg they would have to go to the Cursed Caldera.
Thanks to Ellis' help, they were able to get to the Cursed Caldera, where they would meet Lujanne and the egg hatched due to Callum destroying his primal stone to create a storm, as dragons can only hatch in the middle of one.

- In the novelization of Book 1, it's revealed that the Doctor has pet cat named Button Nose.
