The Doorman is the main protagonist and the player character of the indie game, That's Not My Neighbor. They are a doorman tasked with keeping doppelgangers out of an apartment.
Overview[]
The doorman has taken the job to keep doppelgangers from entering the apartment and making a meal of the inhabitants (them included). They are tasked with checking for any differences in appearances and errors in ID. If they think that the patron is a legit character, they may let the patron in (although they must lock the door right away so that future patrons cannot just walk in). If they think that the patron is a doppelganger, they must call the D.D.D. to get rid of the doppelganger. However, it is entirely possible to kill a neighbor or (if you miss some important details) let a doppelganger in.
There are many ways the day can end. If you let in any doppelgangers, the game will end with green, scaly hands appearing on the screen as a doppelganger swiftly kills you (having presumably done the same to the tenants). If you killed all of the doppelgangers, however, the game will simply end with a report. It is possible to get S-Rank if you kill no neighbors.
Nightmare Mode[]
Nightmare Mode is significantly harder than Arcade Mode.
- The tenants all look like monsters, making any differences harder to spot.
- Whereas Arcade Mode's only penalty for killing neighbors is a drop in your rank, killing two neighbors in Nightmare Mode gets you killed by the Entity (but it also gets you the "HEADACHE" achievement).
- Instead of waiting until the end of the game, any doppelgangers you let in will kill you instantly.
Nightmare Mode ends with a card battle with the Clown from Unlikely. Calling D.D.D, on him will only result in him killing the worker and forcing you into the cade game anyway. If you win, the Clown will become angry again and leave, but not before stating that it won’t be the last time they see him. If you lose, the Clown sadistically taunts them, before breaking the glass and killing the player.
