There's no place like home, and there's no place like Oz.
~ Dorothy, Home Away from Home.

Princess Dorothy Gale is the titular main protagonist of the 2017 Boomerang television sequel series Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.

She is crowned Princess of Emerald City by Queen Ozma after defeating the Wicked Witch of the West.

She is voiced by Kari Wahlgren, who also voices Queen Ozma in the same series, Suzy Johnson in Phineas and Ferb, and Attina in The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning.

Personality[]

Dorothy is a very brave princess. She is also good-natured, who is quite willing to aid her friends out of danger. Due to her cheery nature, Dorothy very rarely gets angry, though it changed when Wilhelmina controlled her emotions with a mood ring. However, aside from all this, Dorothy is sweet, quick-thinking, helpful, and amicable. And she's always willing to help out her friends, introduce the Ozians to customs from back in Kansas and fight the forces of evil in Oz.

Trivia[]

  • Dorothy was originally played by Judy Garland in the 1939 Wizard of Oz film.
  • Her voice actress, Kari Wahlgren, was also from Kansas. She also said, “I mean, every time I would say, ‘Hey, I'm from Kansas,’ people would say, ‘Oh, you're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. So it's been kind of a dream come true. There was something about this one that was very emotional.”
