Dr. Flappe (フラッペはかせ, Furappe Hakase?) is a minor anime-only character who only appears in episode 42 of the original series. He is a scientist from Jingle Village who was forced by the Red Ribbon Army to build Android 8. He used to be a colleague of Dr. Gero.
He was voiced by late Jōji Yanami in Japanese, Eric Vale in the Funimation English dub and Adam Hunter in the Blue Water dub.
Biography[]
Dr. Flappe is a scientist expert on machines who lives in Jingle Village. When the Red Ribbon Army invaded the village to find a Dragon Ball there, he was forced by General White to finish the eight creation of Dr. Gero, Android 8, and implanted a bomb on his body following White's orders. After finishing the creation of Android 8, Dr. Flappe leaved the Red Ribbon Army. When Goku destroyed the Muscle Tower and liberated the village, he went with Suno and Eighter to Dr. Flappe's house to extract the bomb of the latter one. There Murasaki, who survived the destruction of the Muscle Tower, threatens Dr. Flappe, reproaching that he created a traitor. When Murasaki threatens Suno, he is seen by Eighter and then ddefeated by Goku. Now with the problem solved, Dr. Flappe extracts successfully the bomb from his body. Then the group leaves and Dr. Flappe thinks that one day he will tell Eighter that he was the one who put the bomb in his body.
