If it isn't my old colleagues, the mighty "Think Tank" of Big MT. Big FOOLS, all of you. It is I, Dr. Mobius, transmitting from my dome-shaped... dome in the Forbidden Zone. A zone... that is, yes... forbidden to you. Even now, my deadly Robo-Scorpions swarm across Big MT with their pincers and pointy laser tails. Soon, all Science will be mine. Even the technologies sealed in the Big MT research centers cannot save you. So cower in your "Think Tank." Wait, for the end. That's all. Uh... goodbye.
~ Mobius' broadcasted threat to the Think-Tanks

Dr. Mobius is one of the main antagonists (alongside his former colleagues in the Think Tank) of the Old World Blues DLC for Fallout New Vegas.

Originally introduced as a mad scientist wanting to conquer the Big MT with his Roboscorpion army, he is later revealed to be the overarching hero of the DLC, keeping the Think-Tank from escaping Big MT and continuing their experiments on the inhabitants of the Mojave.

He was voiced by Cam Clarke, who also voiced Clay Kaczmarek in Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood and Leonardo in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.

Background[]

Before the Great War, Mobius was a scientist working at the Big Mountain Research Facility. After the great war he, alongside his colleagues, underwent a procedure which would transfer their brains to robotic bodies in hopes to preserve their consciousness for years to come. Over the years however, they would begin to slowly become detached from their humanity, becoming more and more insane, with their experiments getting more and more depraved. Mobius, having kept mostly sane, recognised the threat that the Think-Tank posed to the outside world, and decided to ensure that they're never able to escape by constructing a large radar fence around the Big MT, keeping them unable to leave. Mobius would then go on to reprogram their memory banks, leaving them with false memories and information such as his roboscorpions being able to consume their intellect and that the world outside the Big MT is completely non existent. Despite it being necessary, Mobius felt disgusted by his actions and decided to erase his own memory of the event later moving to the X-42 Robo-warfare facility in the Forbidden Zone. He would build an army of roboscorpions, which he would use to keep the Think-Tank trapped in the dome with false threats and fearmongering.

Over the years, Mobius' mental state began to slip, in part to both the med gel holding his brain beginning to degrade and his growing addiction to mentats and psycho, this would cause him to become more unintentionally violent in his broadcasted messages. Eventually, people began to visit the Big MT, Father Elijah, Christine Royce and Ulysses would all pass through here on their travels, this would cause the Think-Tank to start believing that the world outside the Big MT isn't as dead as they believed, a thought that would worry Mobius.

This would all come to a head when The Courier would end up in the Big MT, with them surviving their lobotomisation, the Think-Tank now had concrete proof that there is a world outside the Big MT, and thus... Mobius had to act fast. Mobius would steal The Courier's brain, holding it in the Forbidden Zone and releasing a large force of roboscorpions upon the Big MT.
