Draal the Deadly

Draal the Deadly was the son of Kanjigar the Courageous and one of the main characters of Trollhunters.

He was voiced by Matthew Waterson.

He is originally jealous and suspicious of Jim but later befriends him – acting as Jim's fighting tutor. During a battle in the museum, Draal sacrifices his lower right arm while removing the Trollhunter amulet from the Killahead Bridge to close the portal, and later obtains a mechanical prosthetic. Draal explains that his father kept a distance from him as he grew up, and he had hoped to become the next Trollhunter that he might earn his father's approval.

Draal and his father fought side by side against the Gumm-Gumms Army, and witness them be banished to the Darklands. Afterward, trolls and humans made a pact to live peacefully, but the former desired combat, and found the treaty to be weak. Though Draal originally despised Jim, and fought him a battle, he became grateful of the Trollhunter when the latter saved him from falling. Despite being shunned, he decided to Save Jim from Nomura on Earth, and moves in with him to help the human on his training.

Personality

Despite his overconfident exterior, Draal is brave and has the best things in mind. Due to wanting to have his father's approval, he trained to become the next Trollhunter, but Jim took the mantle. Draal showed himself to be arrogant and antagonist towards Jim, but changed after being saved by the latter during their battle. After saving Jim and staying on earth, he becomes Jim's trainer and becomes respectful and close to his friends.
