Dream Friends refer to a group of Kirby's friends and rivals that can assist him during the events of Kirby Star Allies. They are special characters that can be summoned to help using the Dream Rod.

Kirby Star Allies[]
In Story Mode, once Kirby has access to the Dream Palace on the map, he can use the Dream Rod there to summon a Dream Friend. The player can choose which friend to accompany Kirby by stopping a slow moving roulette on the character they want. However, if the player wants another Dream Friend after choosing one, they must either switch to another map or finish a stage on a map to make the Dream Palace accessible again.

Trivia[]
- It has been discovered that Hyness was originally intended to be a Dream Friend, as unused color variants of the character were found in the game files. However, his inclusion was scrapped for unknown reasons.
- Besides Hyness, various other characters, including Shadow Kirby, Elline, Drawcia, and Galacta Knight, were all considered to become Dream Friends. However, it was decided to only use a single character from each of the series' "core" games.
