|~ Duck Dodgers|
Duck Dodgers is a cartoon hero who is an alter-ego of the famous Looney Tunes character Daffy Duck but played as an intergalactic law-enforcer parodying old sci-fi heroes such as Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. Originally a joke within the series Duck Dodgers became popular enough to spawn his own franchise complete with his own universe (much like how Buzz Lightyear also gained his own series).
In the Duck Dodgers universe the character is an alter-ego of Daffy but is a fully-fledged sci-fi hero of the decidely wacky variety - whose main enemies would include the Martian Queen and Marvin the Martian as well as some other Looney Tunes villains - altered to fit in with the futuristic settings.
He was voiced by late Joe Alaskey who (shares with Martian Commander) also voices Stinkie from first film of Casper, Grandpa Lou Pickles from Rugrats/All Grown Up!, Sylth Vester from Loonatics Unleashed, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety Bird from The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries and Plucky Duck from Tiny Toon Adventures.
Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century
In the 1953 cartoon, Duck Dodgers and sidekick Eager Young Space Cadet (played by Porky Pig) must search for the rare element Illudium Phosdex, "the shaving cream atom" on the mysterious Planet X, which he fights Marvin the Martian over the planet which leads to it being blown up by dynamites used by both of them and Dodgers claims the blown up planet his.
Duck Dodgers and Return of 24½th Century
In the 1980 cartoon, Duck Dodgers and Eager Young Space Cadet discovered Egg Planet. There was Marvin the Martian who wants to target Earth from there and destroy it. There was a hairy monster named Gossamer.
Duck Dodgers (2003)
In the 2003 TV series, Daffy (portrayed as Duck Dodgers) is the titular protagonist who protects the planet Earth from Marvin the Martian's (Martian Commander X-2) forces but still highly incompetent and dim-witted. Despite his unintelligence, he has shown moments of competence such as knowing how to use laser nunchucks, and skilled with his laser gun, and usually saving the day in the end.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
In the 2003 live-Action movie, Daffy turns into Duck Dodgers in the end to save Bugs from Marvin and uses his beak to stop the laser from firing a blast to Earth that will turn everyone into monkeys which two blasts were fired and one hit Mr. Chairman turning him into a monkey and reverses it causing it to explode and saves Bugs from falling as they return to the ship returning to Earth.
Like his original counterpart, Dodgers is selfish, greedy, arrogant, dim-witted, attention-hogging, and lazy who usually makes his Cadet do all the hard work while he sits around. However, he displays surprisingly high levels of heroism and competence, suggesting that he is not quite as daft as he usually is.
He has shown signs of brilliance, such as being the time he snuck into the Sergeant's quarters and changed his Grade from and F to an A without even tripping an alarm, can do a spinning aerial attack, can fight against robots and win, has snuck into places without getting detected, was able to fly his space ship through an asteroid field (With heavy damage) and shot down Commander X-2's ship, and he actually defeated Commander X-2 in a gun fight.
