According to Dunn, the Army Rangers pull security for "SEALs and D-boys", and are not often sent on special operations.
Afghanistan[]
Corporal Dunn first appears in "S.S.D.D.", and meets with Private First Class Joseph Allen at the entrance of "The Pit". Dunn tells Allen that it's faster to switch to his sidearm than reloading a primary weapon, and also tells him that General Shepherd is watching run the course. Dunn then accompanies Foley and Allen in fighting OpFor and rescuing BCT-One, which is trapped in a town. After clearing out OpFor soldiers, the team regroups with General Shepherd at the LZ.
Virginia[]
Upon the airport massacre orchestrated by Vladimir Makarov, the Russian Armed Forces invade the United States after Allen was found at the massacre. Dunn and Hunter Two-One work with the 75th Ranger Regiment and 1st Battalion in stopping Russian forces in Virginia, and the team also works with Allen's replacement, Private James Ramirez. Dunn and the team stop the Russian Forces, and are later tasked with rescuing a VIP, but learn that he was already secured by other Rangers. Dunn and Hunter Two-One are then assigned to Arcadia County, where they evacuate civilians with the aid of Stryker APC, callsign "Honey Badger". After clearing AA guns, Shepherd orders Dunn and the team to secure a HVI, but they are too late and find him dead.
Washington, D.C.[]
The Army Rangers then move on to Washington, D.C., where U.S. forces are fighting against Russian soldiers. Dunn and the team take a Russian stronghold, and use anti-armor and anti-air to take out Russian BTRs, attack choppers and soldiers. The team manage to buy American evacuation forces time, but get swarmed by Russian forces. Hunter Two-One board a UH-60 Blackhawk and provide cover support, but get shot down by a massive SAM site adopt the Department of Justice. After crashing, Dunn, Foley, Ramirez and other soldiers survive and fight Russian soldiers coming their direction. When the squad runs out of ammunition, Dunn is shot in the shoulders moments before a EMP knocks out all electronic devices, which was caused by Captain John Price.
Dunn and the remaining soldiers evade falling helicopters and enter a building, and later meet with a runner who tells them that Colonel Marshall is gathering forces to retake the White House. After fighting through Russian stragglers, they reach the White House, and Marshall tells Foley to flank the soldiers on the left. Dunn and the squad succeed in clearing the area, and hear through a speaker that the air force are going to airstrike the White House to stop the Russians. The group manage to abort the airstrike with flares, and they talk whether they will be deployed to Moscow or not. Dunn insists on getting revenge on the Russians, and that they will pay for their crimes.
