“ | Enhanced Tactical Humanoid 3rd Revision, or E3N, is the newest addition to the Retribution's crew. The perfect soldier, he is not only stronger, faster, and more durable than any human, but he is also programmed with a personality construct designed to integrate him quickly into any unit. | „ |

Petty Officer First Class Enhanced Tactical Humanoid 3rd Revision (E3N), also known as Ethan, is a major supporting character in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and a playable hero in Call of Duty: Siege, Call of Duty: Heroes and Call of Duty: Mobile.
Ethan was designed to be a "one-of-a-kind" tactical robot, being capable of human responses and emotions. He is assigned to the Admiral-class space warfare carrier UNSA Retribution under Captain John Alder, and survives the Geneva attack by the Settlement Defense Front. After the attack, Ethan works with Nick Reyes and the UNSA to stop the SDF from attacking Earth.
E3N was voiced by Jeffrey Nordling.
Biography[]
Creation[]
“ | Reyes: You kept the Ethan project well under the Radar Admiral. Raines: Captain Alder knew. First troop ready model. Quite remarkable. We're revealing him at the ceremony today. |

The Enhanced Tactical Humanoid 3rd Revision was designed to be a tactical soldier robot, but unlike the C6 robots, was capable of feeling emotions and human responses. In addition, E3N was given a male masculine voice alongside his programming to make him a capable soldier, and was assigned to the Retribution under Captain John Alder. According to Admiral Frederick Raines, Ethan was suppose to be introduced at the Fleek Week Ceremony as a "one-of-a-kind" robot, and Reyes states that the "Ethan Project" wasn't known by many. It's assumed that E3N was designed to tested for Fleet Week, and more robots like him would be created.
The Geneva Attack[]
“ | Indeed sir. Petty Officer First Class. E3N. Enhanced Tactical Humanoid. Third revision. | „ |
~ Ethan introducing himself to Reyes and Salter. |
Ethan met with Nick Reyes and Nora Salter with Admiral Frederick Raines, who tells the two that Ethan will be introduced at Fleet Week. While flying above Geneva, Ethan informs them that the AATIS guns appear to be tracking their fleets, and their helicopter is shot down. Ethan and the others survived, and realize that the Settlement Defense Front is attacking Geneva and destroying the UNSA's fleets. Ethan and the group manage to retake the tower, and stop Akeel Min Riah, a SDF officer who disguised himself to take over the AATIS guns and destroy all of the UNSA's fleets.
After stopping Riah, Ethan boarded in Reyes' jackal as a co-pilot, and launched into orbit to destroy the rest of the remaining SDF's fleets. Though successful, the UNSA's fleet was ambushed by the Olympus Mons, the SDF's supercarrier that was led by SDF Admiral Salen Kotch. The only two ships surviving the ambush are the Retribution and the Tigris, but Captain Alder rams into the Olympus Mons at the cost of his life. Ethan, Reyes and Salter landed on the Retribution, and Reyes was promoted to acting captain and made Salter his first officer.
Luna Gateway Port[]

Raines tasked Reyes and Tigris's commanding officer Maureen Ferran in taking back the Lunar Gateway Port, and distract the SDF so that Earth could rebuild their defenses. While preparing for the mission, Ethan met Staff Sergeant Usef Omar, who didn't like the sight of a combat robot on their side at first. Despite Omar and his marines' harsh behavior towards the robot, Reyes supported Ethan, and convinced Omar to allow the robot to come for the operation. Ethan helped both the SATO Marines and the Coast Guard in taking back the facility, saving civilians and destroying one of the SDF's ships, the Ares Vallis.
Combat support[]
Although Ethan did not take part in numerous Jackal strikes and ship raid missions, he was heard on communications between Reyes and his team during some missions while also helping Reyes decapitate SDF's military leadership, thinning out their ranks.
Titan[]
“ | I'd like to ride a horse some day. | „ |
~ Ethan to Omar. |
After seeing his actions on the field and having warned up to him, Omar personally requested Ethan to join him on other missions. The team then went to Titan to take out the SDF's main fueling tower, and Omar revealed to the group that his father had taken his family there to make a better life. The team sneaked through the SDF's perimeter undetected, and later assaulted the refinery with a rebooted C12. While leaving Titan, the Olympus Mons entered the moon and attacked the ground forces, leading to a space battle.
Ethan and Reyes later landed in a facility, eliminating all SDF personnel and destroy the fueling tower, allowing the Retribution to rescue the duo. Kotch's ship severely damages Ethan and Reyes' jackal, and Reyes orders the crew of the Retribution to retreat and leave them behind. Ethan and Reyes are stranded in space, with Reyes' suit leaking air, and almost died until they are rescued by Captain Maureen Ferran of UNSA destroyer Tigris. Though Ethan didn't participate in "Operation Dark Quarry", he later learned that Omar died when trying to save a mining worker and was left behind so Reyes and the team could survive.
Assaulting the SDF's Shipyard[]
Upon the SDF invading Earth after Reyes' failed plan to use Riah, Ethan appeared before Reyes in a jackal, requesting him to board to stop the SDF. Reyes, Ethan, Salter, Brooks and the group decided to seize the Olympus Mons and defeat Salen Kotch. The team fights their way toward the bridge, and upon being stopped by a sealed door, Ethan suggested that Reyes use a hacking module to hack one of the C6's and kill Kotch. Reyes does so and severely wounds Kotch, and takes over the supercarrier to plan a final attack on the SDF's orbital shipyard over Mars. Ethan reprograms the remaining C6's and C12's on the vessel, placing them under his direct command.
Reyes ordered his team to destroy the shipyard, but the Olympus Mons and Retribution are damaged while providing cover fire, and both collided into each other. Despite the collusion, Ethan managed to survive the crash alongside Reyes, Salter, Brooks and other crew members. Before the ship crashed onto Mars, Ethan took as many C6's and C12's out of the Olympus via dropships so the group could still assault the shipyard. Upon regrouping with his allies, Reyes planned to have Ethan sue the robots for a diversion attack, and destroy the control center of the shipyard.
Sacrifice and Destruction[]
“ | Good luck, Reyes. It's been an honor, sir. | „ |
~ Ethan's last words to Reyes. |
While preparing to destroy the control center, locks holding a SDF destroyer needed to be released in order for the remnant UNSA survivors to destroy the shipyard. Reyes helped Ethan to the locks, and had to remotely control him via the electromagnetic waves emitted from locks, as Ethan was disabled and prevented from advancing. Ethan started attacking the locks, but bullets alone were not enough to destroy the locks, and Ethan reminded Reyes that its self-destruct sequence will be enough to destroy the locks. Ethan gave his final words to Reyes, telling him it was an honor to serve alongside him, and Nick sadly sacrificed him.
Legacy[]
Ethan's sacrifice was not in vain, as Reyes was able to have the control center destroyed despite his own death. The shipyard was destroyed, and thus crippled the SDF's fleet and ending the war with the UNSA and the SDF. However, his name wasn't on the wall with the list of the fallen UNSA soldiers, despite having a pivotal role in stopping the defense front. The reason for Ethan not being on the Wall of Remembrance could because he was robot, and that he was never introduced to the public. That being said, Ethan's actions and its success while serving under Reyes could inspire the UNSA to build more advanced robots, and hopefully give them credits for their service.
