The Earth Federation Government, also abbreviated as EFG or known as simply The Federation, is the overarching protagonistic faction of the anime series Star Musketeer Bismark. It was formed to protect the colonies and maintain law and order when humans started to colonize other planets in the Solar System.
History[]
In 2069, humans started to colonize other planets in the Solar System. To protect the colonies and maintain law and order, the Earth Federation Government was created. However, many settlers soon began to resent the Federation and its spherical influence, leading to a strained relationship between it and the colonies.
In 2084, the Deathcula launch a second invasion on the Solar System, attacking the colonies and killing many colonists without provocation. The Federation fight them but are hopelessly outmatched due to their advanced technology. As a result, Marianne Louvre calls on the colonies to join the Federation, while her father Dr. Charles Louvre decides to develop the transformable starship Bismarck in order to combat the Deathcula. Knowing that a team of specialists is required to pilot it, Shinji Hikari, Richard Lancelot and Bill Willcox come together to create the Bismarck team, with Shinji as the leader. Marianne is also chosen to join the team by the colony leaders during the meeting between them, much to the pleasure of her father. From then on, Shinji leads the Bismarck team to fight against the Deathcula and save the Solar System from them.
Near the end of the series, the Deathcula promise peace with the Federation. However, knowing that they will go back on the deal, Dr. Louvre prepares a second, upgraded Bismarck. When the Deathcula massacre the human colonies on Mars en masse, the Federation muster a massive war fleet and nearly wipe out all of them, before the second Bismarck heads to Hell's Paradise and destroy their last remnant alongside their leader Hyuza for good. Afterwards, a peace is set between the Federation and the colonies.

The Federation's most prominent weapons are their war fleets, which are very advanced. Early on however, they fail to defeat the Deathcula's even more technology-advanced ones, but towards the end, when the Federation actually consider them threats, they muster a massive one and nearly wipe out all of them, leaving only the ones on Hell's Paradise that are soon destroyed with it by the Bismarck team. It's implied that the only reason the Federation lost to the Deathcula at the start of the series was due to seeing them as nuisances, rather than inferior weapons.
