Eddie is a minor protagonist in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
In the 1975 film, he was portrayed by the late Meat Loaf, who first played the role, as well as Dr. Scott, on stage in Los Angeles and New York City. In the 2016 film, he was portrayed by Adam Lambert.
After Rocky is created, Eddie crashes through the door of the freezer he was in on his motorcycle, starting a party with the Transylvanians and his girlfriend, Columbia. However, the fun is cut short when a jealous Frank N. Furter, the scientist who created Rocky, chases Eddie into the freezer with a pickax, with which he hacks Eddie to death.
Later, Eddie's uncle, Dr. Scott, who is also Frank's rival, arrives, explaining that he is looking for him. At dinner, after a song about Eddie, Frank pulls off the tablecloth, revealing the corpse of Eddie, which their evening meal was actually made of, making it a famous pun to the actor.
Later at the floorshow, after Frank mistakenly believes he is going back to Transylvania with two of his servants, Magenta and Riff Raff, Dr. Scott reveals that Frank will die at the hands of Riff by a laser, to protect society, after having had seen what had become of Eddie.
Before releasing the three people, Riff apologizes to Dr. Scott about Eddie, to which Dr. Scott replies, "Well, perhaps it was best."
