“ | Whoever dies last, be a good lad and burn the rest of us. Once I'm done with this world, I don't want to come back. | „ |

“ | Some dogs crawled atop me during the night. My cloak was almost dry when one of them pissed in it. Or perhaps it was Brown Bernarr. Have you noticed that the rain stopped the instant I had a roof above me? It will start again now that I'm back out. Gods and dogs alike delight to piss on me. | „ |

Eddison Tollett, most commonly called Dolorous Edd, is a supporting character in A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones.
He is a squire from House Tollett, in the Vale of Arryn, and a steward of the Night's Watch. He appears to have been born to a lesser and impoverished branch of House Tollett, as upon visiting a wildling village he speaks of being raised in a crude house, the type of place that might have been home to the poorer of the smallfolk.
In the TV series he is played by guest star Ben Crompton.
Biography[]
“ | Edd: I never win anything. The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks? Grenn: Was it a long fall? Did landing in the pool of water save his life? Edd: No. He was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks. |

Eddison Tollett is a brother of the Night's Watch and squire to Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. He joined with Mormont north of the Wall for the Great Ranging. He befriended Jon Snow during the ranging, as the two were both Mormont's squires. He was present during the Mutiny at Craster's Keep, but has since returned to the Wall. In the TV series, he participated in the Raid on Craster's Keep, killing the mutineers, and commanded the Night's Watch forces manning the Wall during the later stages of the Battle of Castle Black. In the novels, Edd fought the wildlings at the Bridge of Skulls, near the Shadow Tower. He was a candidate for the 998th Lord Commander, but soon resigned when he received a single vote and gave his vote to Jon Snow. In the books, Edd has also grey hair.
He is well-known and well-liked by his brothers in the Night's Watch. He is close friends with Jon Snow. In the TV series, he is also close friends with Samwell Tarly, Grenn and Pypar (who are still friends to him in the novels).

Trivia[]
- He had a very unfortunate life even before taking the black.
- He joined the Night's Watch as a free volunteer, not as a convicted criminal, possibly to escape poverty. He was convinced by Yoren.
- His exact age is unknown, but his hair have all gone grey in the novels.
- In the TV show, Edd participates in the battle for the Wall at Castle Black. This is not the case in the novels, where Edd participates in the invasion from the west, where the Shadow Tower and its garrison are. Edd is part of Bowen Marsh's host, and they engage against the Weeper's warband north of the Wall, at the Bridge of Skulls. Edd, Marsh, Ser Denys Mallister and the others don't return to Castle Black until weeks later, after Stannis Baratheon already defeated the main wildling host. On their way they are also joined by Sam Tarly and Gilly, who are never involved with the wildling invasion at all in the books and only reached Castle Black from their travels after Stannis's arrival.
