Not just a Spark Hunter... I was their LEADER. Cursa gave me an EDGE, with just enough free will to lead - to think. That edge let me see Cursa for what it is - a black hole of greed leading to a bottomless pit of misery. Bedrock, Midnite, Daphne - I tried to turn them to the light, instead they turned on me. So I hit the road - tried to save what Sparks I could 'fore they got their hands on 'em. That's the truth of it. I didn't say anything 'cause I figured you didn't have a reason to believe me.

~ Edge
Edge is one of the Rabbid protagonists that appears in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Edge has been described as a cool, strong, independent, and proud hero who is confident in her actions and abilities. She is fast and determined when fighting against her enemies but still seems to care for her old friends Midnite, Bedrock, and Daphne, despite coming to blows due to their villainous actions. She is shown to always keep her composure even under extreme circumstances or even when she is sufficiently angered, and during battle, she dares her foes to attack her when she is targeted and when hit with a fire attack, she will grunt and snarl rather than let out a scream of agony.
Given her shady history, Edge is shown to be stoic and somewhat cold, keeping her distance from her allies physically and emotionally as she is seen preferring to lean against the corner of the WM ARC instead of being with the group. Edge seems to come across as a scary and formidable opponent to anyone who challenges her. She has carried many typical habits such as crossing her arms at numerous points and putting her hands on her hips, but with the nature of her origins and former alliance, she also tends to let out an ominous chuckle when she runs, when she is selecting a foe to attack, or when she nears a somewhat cocky level; her eyes will narrow and she will smile with her mouth closed or opened, and in the latter case where she shows her sharp teeth and exhales in an unsettling manner. Coupling that with her skills with the Flying Blade and general dark appearance, it is enough for even her own allies to fear her as well, which is best shown when she hushes the already terrified Augie, who sinks into the water and after fighting the Giant Wildclaw where Beep-0 nervously tries to tell her that they need Twinkle's help in getting the lighthouse working again and the currently used heroes being nervous in the same scene. When she felt cornered by Beep-0 when he asks in suspicion of her regarding her relationship with the Spark Hunters, her becoming furious and lecturing him about her personal matters being pried into was enough to make Beep-0 back off. Even with her imposing nature, Edge is not malevolent and is rather well-meaning when she makes it clear that she just wants to help ensure the Sparks and innocent people are safe from Cursa's reign of terror.
Edge has shown a slightly insecure side as she is desperate to save the Sparks from Cursa and is conscious of her former allegiance with the entity, that she fears that her new allies, who also shared her desire to help the Sparks, would stop trusting her if they found out that she was the leader of the Spark Hunters and end up losing valuable allies as well as the people whom she considered as friends. It wasn't until a shadowy clone of herself and Bowser near the end of the story where she finally opens up about her origins as well as her shame about her villainous actions before she realized Cursa's true colors and turned away from it. She eventually warms up more after seeing that her new friends were still accepting of her due to her heroic actions and genuine intentions that earned her their trust, despite this revelation.
Despite her being somewhat aloof, Edge is shown to be extremely compassionate and genuinely wants to save them as shown when she saved Twinkle from Cursa's minions and puts her sword down and allows it to approach her to show that she is an ally when she knew that it was scared of her and wanted to heal its innocence and faith in others. She is also merciful as she spares Midnite's life instead of killing her to have her return to Cursa empty-handed as her way of showing her just how monstrous Cursa truly was to others, including her minions. She also notes that she and the rest of the Spark Hunters are searching for a different profession. Edge also deeply loves and cares for her new friends and holds great respect for their abilities and since her backstory's reveal, they become one of the few people that she is comfortable enough to be fully honest.
Being a warrior, Edge is also something of a tomboy, as shown that she is not afraid to get her paws dirty if it meant that it gets her missions done and she is also rough and tumble with her fighting skills and she isn't interested in things that girls normally enjoy, such as romance or dancing, and she does not mind having her shirt bing torn since it adds to her tough persona, and in many of the Darkmess Puddle battles that require certain heroes to take up the challenge, Edge is only paired with the male characters such as Rabbid Mario, Mario, and Bowser. Even then, she has a few rare girlish moments here and there, as she also enjoys being with her female companions as she and they give out unique lines when all members are female, isn't above wearing magenta purple eyeshadow, and having a pink loop on her lower belt.
Edge doesn't seem to care much about romance as shown when Rabbid Mario flirts with her and tries to win her heart on multiple occasions, though his efforts always ended in failure with her remaining unimpressed with his attempts. When Rabbid Mario makes a snowman of his likeness in Pristine Peaks and declares that both he and Edge "make one heck of a team" in Terra Flora, though in these cases only add to her annoyance towards him. When they were riding a Wiggler Train to Mt. Spout and are being pursued by an angry real Wiggler, a terrified Rabbid Mario jumps into Edge's arms which shocks her. Later, Rabbid Mario claims that she "nearly fainted at the sight of his enormous biceps", which the team knows never happened and once again has her facepalming. Even then, she is willing to tolerate him, and she is never shown losing her cool towards him. If one looks closely at the epilogue of Rayman in the Phantom Show, Edge can be seen giving a genuine smile at Rabbid Mario as he shows everyone the gift Rayman gave him and Rabbid Peach, implying that she may be developing feelings for him, but it is currently unknown if she actually did, or she is just happy that he has done a good deed.
Appearance[]
Edge has long spiky black hair with green highlights and large eyebrows. Her outfit follows a punk goth theme with a torn purple shirt, amethyst earrings, a black leather zipper jacket that has two green belts attached, a pair of black leather fingerless gloves, and black boots with green highlights. She also has a black belt with a pink loop on her right side below her shirt.
Aside from these distinctions, Edge has many of the usual Rabbid features in terms of appearance. She has white fur covering most of her body, stubby legs and hands with no visible fingers, a rounded head with long ears, a pair of big light blue eyes, and a mouth that can open very wide, while lacking the pale pink color. However, rather than having two teeth like other Rabbids, she has four sharp teeth instead, a trait shared with the Spark Hunters, and the interior of her mouth is orange with a bright orange tongue instead of red or pink.
Powers and Abilities[]
In battle, Edge can throw her Flying Blade to hit a row of enemies in a single turn; when it returns to her, it strikes them again on the way back. The Flying Blade has medium range, bypasses partial cover and deals more damage to larger enemies. Certain upgrades can increase the range, critical damage, and even the size of the Flying Blade's Halo spin and increase damage by 5% for each hit.
Out of all the heroes, Edge has the most Dashes when the Dash upgrades Movement tree is fully purchased. Edge gains the benefit of the Dashes by allowing her to increase movement by 3m and subsequent dashes' power increases by an additional 20% and can increase her glide time when she Team Jumps with the help of other allies.
Edge's Technique is the Stormblade which behaves as a Line-of-Sight attack that allows her to strike any enemy that moves within a small range that can be increased up to medium and can even attack enemies within her Line-of-Sight that don't even move at all. Various upgrades allow the Stormblade's range and attack power to increase and allow Edge to gain an additional Stormblade charge. The Mountain Stance reduces damage by 50% from all sources when Stormblade is active. When Stormblade is activated first and she hasn't attacked yet, Edge will hold her Flying Blade while being in motion instead of standing in one spot.

Trivia[]
In Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, she is the first and only playable Rabbid to not be based on a Super Mario character.
According to Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope producer Xavier Manzanares, Edge's characterization was inspired by Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and Guts from the manga series Berserk.
Edge is the only known Spark Hunter to have ever redeemed herself, and it is uncertain if the rest of the Spark Hunters she knows has ever done the same thing.
In JEANIE's Memory Logs, she confirmed that the Spark Hunters were created through Rabbid DNA and an object that made them what they are, but since Edge was also created by Cursa, its unknown what element merged with Rabbid DNA that she came to be. Some might believe that since Cursa was once a fragment of the MegaBug that retained its memories, it's possible that Edge's appearance has different takes on certain Mario characters; her hairstyle and eyebrows nearly resembled Bowser's due to it once possessing him. Her hairlocks and earrings are in a similar shape to Princess Peach, though the earrings are diamond shaped.
Edge has hints of foreshadowing that reveals that she isn't truly a villain despite her mysterious nature:
After she shushes Augie, she gave off the impression that she has nefarious intentions, which is followed by her running into the Sunrise Temple.
Edge's laugh initially came off as sinister when she first makes her presence known, she targets the Stooges instead of attacking the Heroes or letting the minions take Twinkle captive. Her ominous chuckling is more of one of her habits rather than her being mean-spirited and/or sadistic.
When Edge is holding out her hand to Twinkle in an assuring way, a beam of sunlight can be shining down on her to show that Edge is actually benevolent.
Edge's reveal as the Spark Hunters' former commander has been foreshadowed at various points:
Her character design is noticeably much more different than the rest of the Rabbids and some of her looks, such as her eyes and teeth are also traits that the Spark Hunters have.
All three Spark Hunters are shown to know Edge very well and when Edge is questioned about their friendship, she immediately dismisses or changes the subject.
During the battle with Darkmess Edge, the statues of Bedrock, Midnite, and Daphne can be seen hovering around the battlefield with only Kanya's statue being broken, but Edge strangely does not have one of her own, which is due to her defection.
Her Darkmess doppelganger is confirmed to have been created by Cursa itself, and as the Spark Hunters were similarly formed, Edge was also created by the same entity which she would confirm her origins.
