Effie Trinket is a minor character in The Hunger Games books and movies. She is the escort of the District 12 tributes, including Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. It is her duty to perform the annual reaping, where she chooses which two District 12 teenagers will become Hunger Games tributes.

Peronality

Effie is very flamboyant and outgoing. She encourages tributes to be excited about their participation in the Hunger Games, and is at first either oblivious or indifferent to the tragic, barbaric nature of the Games. As the series goes on, Effie becomes less shallow and wakes up to the harsh reality of what her duties entail as she also becomes more attached to Katniss and Peeta. In Mockingjay, she turns against The Capitol and joins the rebellion against them.
