Egalt is a supporting character in the second season of Ninjago: Dragons Rising. He is a dragon from the Realm of Oni and Dragons who lives in a training plateau somewhere in the Wilderness together with Rontu. Both Egalt and the latter are known as the Dragon Masters, who are famously known for defeating the a group of evil elemental masters known as the Forbidden Five, through the usage of a special technique called Rising Dragon, which the Dragon Masters created to counter Shatterspin, a forbidden type of Spinjitzu.
With the aid of Bonzle, a living spell created by the sorceress Gandalaria, Egalt and Rontu successfully banished the Forbidden Five to the Nether-Space for all eternity before erasing every trace of their existence from history. Thousands of years later, Egalt and Rontu were sought out by The Ninja, who sought to stop Lord Ras and the Wolf Clan from freeing the Forbidden Five during the Blood Moon.
He is voiced by Andrew Francis, who also voiced Cole and Morro in the same series, Max McGrath from Max Steel, Shining Armor from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Lin Chung from Hero: 108 Gil Nexdor from Johnny Test, and Ty Rux from Dinotrux.
Biography[]
Egalt is a teacher for the Rising Dragon Technique. He teaches Lloyd, Kai, Nya, and Arin until the latter's lack of skill in Spinjitzu led to him accidentally striking Egalt, leaving him half-blind, which ultimately forced him to demote Arin to be taught under Rontu. Eventually, Kai, with help from Nya, achieves the Rising Dragon technique.
Personality[]
Compared to Rontu's gentle and encouraging nature, Egalt is is a fierce, serious master who refuses to settle for less with his students, he is also shown to be a lot more harsh towards non-dragons after a past incident in trying to teach some non-dragon students. The only one who's able to actually connect with him despite his jaded edge is Wyldfyre thanks to the culture and fairytales she learned from the dragons who raised her.
