The Egg Monsters are the titular central characters of the Goosebumps forty-second book, Egg Monsters from Mars along with it's FBX comic adaptation. They also appear in the mobile game Goosebumps HorrorTown.
They are a race of egg like creatures originating from Mars, that came to Earth in a meteor shower, being found by the excentric doctor, Dr. Gray, and by a boy named Dana.
Biography[]
They originated from Mars, and were thrown o Earth after a meteor shower, that coincidentally only happened in the protagonist's town. They came, however, they were yet to be born, as they came in eggs, extremly durable green eggs with blue veins that resisted being pulverized by the atmosphere, and hit Earth. In his little sister's birthday, which was supposed to be an egg hunt but became an egg war when the kids discovered that the eggs weren't cooked, Dana found that strange egg. He accidentally fell into it and it didn't break. He took it to his home, and tried to tell a few people but no one believed him. The egg then hatched. He tried to show it to his best friend, Anne Gravel, but she gets scared, and her mother get Dana outside the house.
He then got it to a local lab, commanded by Dr. Gray, where he discovered the backstory of the creatures, and that they were all contained there, in Gray's lab. Dana's egg creature got with the others, but Gray locked Dana in there too, as, since he touched the creatures, he could've been infected with unknown diseases, and he'd experiment on him the next day. The creatures looked to Dana all the time, wuth their deep, black eyes, and mimicked formats Dana made with his hands, in an attemp to make contact with them. The cell they were in was refirgerized, as the creatures didn't like hot temperatures, but Dana was almost freezing to death there. So, the egg-monsters united and formed a big carpet of egg-creatures, which scared Dana, but he soon realized they weren't trying to harm him, but save him.
They involved him, kept him warm, and saved his life until Dr. Gray came back next day, determined to do many, horrible experiments with Dana, being specially angry because Dana discovered a way of communicating with them much before he did. However, the big Egg Monster amalgamation, attacked Dr. Gray, leaving enough time to Dana to fight for the door's remote control, and get out. He toled his parents what happened, but they didn't believe him, and when they got to the lab, both the eggs and the Doctor already vanished. Later that day, it was revealed that Dana appearently was affected by the creatures, because he layed a egg in his lawn.

- Tim Jacobus, the artist of the Goosebumps covers, said that the cover of Egg Monster from Mars was one of his faovrites in the series.
