Eiko is the main protagonist of the science-fiction anime series Terminator Zero based on the 1980s original film series. She is a member of the Resistance. Eiko came back to time from 2022 to 1997 prior to Judgement Day to protect Malcolm Lee, a scientist who created artificial intelligences that may protect humanity from Skynet, an organization from the future, against a terminator sent back in time by Skynet, to kill Malcolm and his children.

She is voiced by Sonoya Mizuno in English and Toa Yukinari in Japanese.

Appearance

Eiko appears to be a young adult woman somewhere in her mid 20s with wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She initially dons a jacket.

Biography

Eiko is first seen fighting a terminator who chases her inside some sort of a towering facility, where she manage have the robot let go of her leg when she tried to grasp to a fragile cord that was hanging in the middle of facility. As she later returns to her allies, she discusses with one of them, presumably the leader, about whether all her mission of going into time to save Malcolm Lee is meaningless and whether the timeline she goes back will actually be in danger. As says her farewell and hops into the time machine, the terminator that she fought earlier came back, this time with a rifle that the robot uses to massacre a large number of people. Eiko watches as the horrible massacre unfolds while she is teleported back in time, in 1997, Japan. She finds herself in a dark urban alley at night, where she finds steals the cloth of a couple. Immediately starting to search for Malcolm, Eiko is later seen driving a truck that she uses to heavely strike another terminator disguised as a construction worker, that is sent back to time as well. She was able to push down the terminator into the body of water below the bridge after being injured and narrowly escaping from being dragged into it as she exits the truck and land climb back onto the bridge. Thought she saw Malcolm moments ago, she starts pursuing the woman who was with her, Misaki to force her to comply to tell her Malcolm's location as she refuses several times. Eiko threatens Misaki with her headgun to guide her and they soon arrive in a facility. Eiko then collapses, leading Misaki to trying to treat her wound by closing it with threads. They discusses about her objective of desperately to meet Malcolm, but Misaki reassures her that things will be fine thanks to his artificial creation that will fight back Skynet. Eiko denies and panicks.
