Elaine is a supporting character in the anime/manga fantasy series The Seven Deadly Sins. She is the former Holy Maiden of the Fountain of Youth before sacrificing her life to save her lover Ban. She is later resurrected by Melascula before dying once again during a battle against the Demon Clan, this time being resurrected by Ban himself through the process of him giving up his immortality.
She is also known to be the younger sister of The Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, the Fairy King Harlequin (usually called King), and is currently the wife of Ban, with a child named Lancelot.
She is voiced by Kotori Koiwai in Japanese and Brianna Knickerbocker in English.
Appearance[]
Elaine is a very petite pale-skinned young woman with the appearance of a young child in spite of her actually being 1000 years old. She has gold hair that reaches her shoulders and matching eyes adorned by long, thin eyelashes. After she optained her wings, she gained a noticeably more mature and older appearance and longer hair. However, once her magical power is completely depleted, her appearance changes back into her younger form.
As the Holy Maiden, Elaine wore a long white one-piece gown tied together with a butterfly knot at the back due to its lack of straps. It also had a pair of puffy detached sleeves.
When revived by Melascula, Elaine's outfit changed from her general white gown to that of a fancier revealing dress and slippers made from a pair of leaves.
Personality[]
Elaine has a caring and kind-hearted personality, similar to Elizabeth Liones. She cares deeply for her forest and goes to great lengths in order to protect it from any outsiders. She's also incredibly curious and optimistic. She's often very cheerful and puts the well-being of others before that of her own. However, in spite of her good-hearted and bright nature, Elaine initially had a distrust and animosity towards humans due to their frequent attempts to steal from the forest's fountain of youth. This changes after meeting Ban. At first, she treated him as she did with all other humans who she came across. But spending time with him caused her to form a bond with him and even sacrificed herself to save him when a demon attacked the forest by forcily having him drink the water of the fountain of youth via a kiss.
After she was resurrected by Melascula using her demon magic, Elaine's personality changed to a more hostile and malicious one towards anyone who had formed any sort of relationship with Ban, regardless of whether they became a friend or enemy of his. Fortunately, thanks to Ban and Jericho, these effects of her revival are undone and she returns to her innocent, loving personality.

- She has very poor alcohol tolerance, the OVA even having her getting drunk after a single sip of ale that Ban gave her to try.
- Elaine enjoyed her pregnancy, as she was the first fairy in history to experience giving birth; so everything was new and unknown.
