Perseus' Manhunt[]
In 1981, Lazar was recruited into joining Russell Adler's team to stop Perseus, a Soviet spy who is the leader of his own spy network that goes by the same name. Lazar was recruited alongside CIA agents Lawrence Sims, Alex Mason, Frank Woods, MI6 agent Helen Park, and the newly-programmed agent named "Bell". Lazar was informed by Adler and Park that "Bell" was programmed, since they were close associates of Perseus" and Adler managed to save them from the Trabzon Airport operation. Meeting the team at the safehouse in West Berlin, Adler has "Bell" recall their past memories of Operation Fracture Jaw, where "Bell", Adler, and Sims found intel on Perseus in Vietnam. Due to "Bell" being programmed by Adler and Park, the mission are implanted for the CIA's use. "Bell" managed to decode the intel, and got stuck on the name of Anton Volkov, a Russian mafia arms dealer Anton Volkov and an associate of Perseus.
Knowing that Volkov will got out in the open, the team decide to follow his chief courier Franz Kraus, and are assisted by BND spy Greta Keller. However, Keller's informant Lukas Keller was apprehended by the Stasi, and Lazar regroups with "Bell" to meet Park at a storefront. Lazar and Park task "Bell" with placing a tracker in Kraus' briefcase, and they succeed in doing so. Franz then kidnaps "Bell" and Greta, brining them to Volkov to be interrogated. Lazar, Park, and Adler rescue "Bell" and Greta (if alive), and battle Volkov's henchmen, and Kraus is killed. "Bell" then corners Volkov, and the player has the choice to either apprehend or eliminate Volkov. After the operation, Lazar learns from Woods and "Bell" that Jason Hudson is the head of Operation Greenlight, a CIA nuclear program where American nukes are placed across Europe.
After Adler, Woods, and Mason confront Hudson on the situation, they also learn that Perseus stole a nuke from Berlin. The CIA also learn that Perseus has the list of sleeper agents that were programmed by Nikita Dragovich and Friedrich Steiner, and Adler sends Mason and Woods to Mount Yamantau to collect the mainframe. However, Hudson's superior Emerson Black reveals that Perseus wiped it, leaving the only source to get the list from the KGB headquarters in Moscow. Adler decides to have KGB double agent Dimitri Belikov help him and "Bell" infiltrate the KGB, and Lazar helps the three escape from the headquarters after they collect the list. After the operation, the CIA pin point Theodore Hastings as the sleeper agent Perseus will use to arm the nuke, and will have him do at an empty compound in Havana, Cuba. Lazar and Park work with the team in fighting Tropas in Havana, and they learn from Hastings that Persues had him arm all of the nukes across Europe, and plans on blaming the United States.
Lazar, Park, and "Bell" meet up with CIA agents while holding down a position to exfil, but they are attacked by a Tropas soldier with an RPG. Lazar and Park are critically injured, and "Bell" is forced to choose one of them to escape with the skyhook, or left them both behind to be killed by Tropas. If the player saves Lazar, he thanks them at the safehouse, and helps Adler and Sims during "Bell's" interrogation. After recalling their past memory with Perseus, Adler, Lazar, and Sims reveal that "Bell" was a close associate of Perseus, and that they were left for dead by Perseus' associate Arash Kadivar. The player has the option to either tell the truth of Perseus's location, or lie and take them to the wrong location out of resentment.
