Elena Greco is one of the two main protagonists (with Raffaella "Lila/Lina" Cerullo) of the book series of Elena Ferrante My Brilliant Friend. She is a beautiful writer, very intelligent and cultured but unaware of her qualities.
She is portrayed by Margherita Mazzucco as an adult and by Elisa Del Genio as child.
History[]
Elena Greco is one of the two main characters and narrator of my book series L'amie Prodigieuse; the books follow her schooling, her loves, later her marriage, her children and her career as a writer, but above all the friendship that has bound her for decades to Raffaella Cerullo, a complicated friendship tinged with manipulation and good times.
Family[]
Immacolata Greco[]
Elena's mother, who often hit and yelled at her daughter. His mother later told him that she always considered him her only daughter and her favourite, just before she died.
Elena Greco's father[]
Elena has never built a real relationship with her father unlike her sister Elisa; she does not value him and is content to exchange superficialities with him.
Elisa[]
Elena had a good relationship with her sister at first, which is completely deteriorating in the last few volumes. Elisa now treats her sister with contempt and aggressiveness; Elena, for her part, deplores her sister's lack of attention to herself and her relationship with Marcello Solara.
Pepe and Gianni[]
Elena does not have many relationships with her brothers, but will still try to help them get hired by Lila when they have problems.
