Master Elephant, or simply Elephant, is a character in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. He is Master Oogway's student and member of the Former Furious Five.
He is voiced by Nolan North, who also voiced Smokescreen in Transformers: Prime, Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, Desmond Miles in the Assassin's Creed series, Edward Richtofen in the Call of Duty zombie series, Vashryon in Resonance of Fate, Deadpool in numerous media and videogames, and 2008's Prince of Persia in the titular videogame.
Personality[]
Elephant is quite rude and straightforward. His pursuit to claim the Xi'an sword was above trusting his teammate. He was Shifu's most ardent opponent after the Xi'an incident. Nevertheless, he is still able to admit his mistakes.
Biography[]
Earlier years[]
For many years Elephant fought alongside Shifu, Snow Leopard, Rooster, and Fenghuang under the guidance of Oogway, facing such threats as the villainous Ding. Their last team mission was the battle with the demon Xi'an, in which they tried to take possession of his magic sword. Shifu put his hands on the sword, but in the end he threw it into the volcano on top of which they were fighting, realizing the danger of its power. Although Shifu explained his reasoning, the Elephant and the others perceived his actions as cowardice, which led to a break in their friendship. Then, the strongest member of the team, Fenghuang, betrayed her friends, seeking to take over the Jade Palace. After the battle with Oogway, in which she was defeated, she escaped in front of her teammates. Elephant and the others later drifted apart, and Shifu did not speak to any of them for quite a long period of time.
Years later, Xi'an's sword reappeared, and Elephant reunited with Snow Leopard and Rooster in hopes of retrieving it. The Emperor himself approved their mission. They also rescued Fenghuang from Chorh-Gom prison due to the need for her protective spell, promising that she would be released in exchange for her help. Elephant was against inviting Shifu to join them after the previous mission, but his companions convinced him that he is their comrade, so he should be given a second chance to correct his mistake.
The First Five[]
Shortly before the events of this series, Po invited Elephant, Snow Leopard and Rooster to a party held especially for Shifu. Surprisingly to Po and the current team of Five, Elephant and the others were not happy to meet Shifu and instead of hugging began mocking towards him. Angered by the disregard for their master, the current Five attacked their predecessors, but were quickly defeated by more experienced kung fu masters.
In the Jade Palace, Shifu told his students about his team's latest mission - fighting the demon Xi'an and obtaining his sword - which Elephant and the others consider their only failure. The team told Shifu that the sword has turned up, and they decided to get it, for which they have brought Fenghuang from Chorh-Gom prison. But despite the offer to join in order to correct his mistake, Shifu did not agree (even Po's beliefs couldn't change his mind), so the team decided to return Fenghuang back to prison.
On the way out, Po caught up with them and offered to become Shifu's deputy. Initially, the Five did not agree, but after he demonstrated his abilities to them, they accepted him into their team and went to get the sword together. At some point, they had to fight the Imperial guards, after defeating whom they finally found and took out the sword, but then something happened that Shifu had predicted a long time ago. When Elephant took the sword, the Xi'an's spirit possessed him.
Being in the power of the demon, Elephant started attacking his teammates. They were joined by Shifu and the current Five who had just arrived. At the end of a hard battle, Shifu was finally able to free Elephant from Xi'an's hold by reminding him of their past bond, and Elephant was saved. After realizing why Shifu originally wanted to throw away the sword, Elephant and the others apologized to him, admitting that he was the wisest member of their team.
Fenghuang then threw the sword into the volcano, destroying Xi'an's spirit forever. Elephant and the others initially expressed no intention of fulfilling their previous agreement to release her, but Po persuaded them, and they reluctantly released her. After that, Elephant together with his friends began to welcome Po as a new honorary member of their team.
