Eli Hale is a major character of the 2023 Paramount+ Original Movie Teen Wolf: The Movie, the sequel film to the MTV series Teen Wolf. He is Derek Hale's son and a naturally born werewolf. He is also the grandson of Talia Hale, the cousin once removed of Malia Tate and the nephew of Laura and Cora Hale.

Early History

Eli Hale was born sometime between "The Wolves of War" and Teen Wolf: The Movie to Derek Hale and an unidentified woman. When Eli was three years old, he met Derek's old friend, Scott McCall. However this was The last time they saw each other before Scott moved to Los Angeles with his boss Alan Deaton. Growing up in Beacon Hills, Derek told Eli stories about his adventures, including how Peter bit Scott and started the events.

When Eli was very young and was playing in the floor of his house, wild coyotes attacked their home. Derek shape shifted in front of his son and as a werewolf, used his dominance over animals with a powerful roar. Eli was, fairly, traumatized by this and therefore refused to accept his werewolf heritage. He was even afraid that he was one of the Hales who did not inherit the lycanthropy from Derek as well. Instead of being invested in his supernatural heritage, Eli developed an affinity with lacrosse and often stole Stiles' Jeep. He would always hotwire it and steal it from his father's garage. However, Eli would always be caught by Sheriff Stilinski or Jordan Parrish.

At the end of the film, Eli is left an orphan after Derek sacrifices his life to save his allies and family from the Nogitsune. However, before his death, Derek tells Scott that he is the Alpha and Eli is a part of his pack now. At Derek's memorial service, Eli is given Stiles' Jeep by Sheriff Stilinski and moves to Los Angeles with Scott and Allison.

Trivia

• Eli claims himself to be the only Hale who did not get powers. However, this contradicts Derek's statement in season 1 episode "Magic Bullet," where he tells Scott that some of the people killed in the fire were humans.
  • However, Eli could be referring to the fact that he was the only Hale currently alive who had no transformation yet.
• Eli's number, 11 was Scott's as well.
