Elisabeth, also known as the Blood Queen, is a major antagonist and a supporting character in the fantasy manga, light novel, and anime series The Eminence in Shadow. She is a powerful vampire who was being speculated as one of the monarchs of the Crimson Tower in Lawless City, but when the truth was exposed, she was only an image used by Crimson and later disown her position after getting rescued by Shadow.

She is voiced by Saori Hayami in Japanese and by Brianna Roberts in English.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

In contrast to other Vampire Progenitors who employed their powers for survival and malevolent purposes, Elisabeth can be deemed as the most kindhearted not only among her fellow progenitors but of all vampires. Mary attributes this characteristic to Elisabeth's inherent nature, influenced by consistently low blood pressure in her body. Elisabeth exhibits a willingness to self-sacrifice to prevent harm caused by her own powers. She diligently endeavors to resist the urge to feed, though her identity as the vampire progenitor poses a formidable challenge. Despite this struggle, Elisabeth adamantly refuses to excessively harm innocents, opting to hunt only the essential minimum required for her survival. A compassionate individual, she holds the belief that her species, the vampires can peacefully coexist with other races. This conviction led her to establish a utopia, fostering equality for all within its boundaries. Elisabeth possesses a gradual awakening process, irrespective of whether she is well-nourished or requires blood.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Blood Manipulation: Elisabeth can use her blood to serve both assault and defensive purposes. Elisabeth can control her blood at will, infusing it with magical properties. She uses this power to heal herself when injured and to provide protection. However, her primary application of this ability is offensive in nature. She employs it aggressively and lethally, utilizing her blood for sword attacks, whether in close or long-range combat. Additionally, Elisabeth can inject her enemies with something referred to as the "Curse of the Vampire," suggesting a potentially harmful or debilitating effect on those targeted. Aurora shares a similar ability, stemming from the "Original Blood," and her experience as a witch enhances this power. Her proficiency surpasses Elisabeth's, especially in offensive applications. Aurora uses this ability more intricately, countering, cursing, or manipulating the blood of others, including Elisabeth.

While both possess the blood manipulation ability, Elisabeth doesn't typically rely on magic to control her blood, as it naturally responds to her will. She can interact with the blood of other living beings, using it for her benefit or against them. Notably, this ability is limited to manipulating blood and doesn't extend to other liquids like water or saltwater.
