Tsao was a Mogu Emperor from the Warcraft series. While the Mogu, especially their leaders, are almost universally tyrannical warmongers, Tsao has the distinction of being the only known Emperor who had none of these traits, and focused on being a kind and dedicated leader. This effect was felt strongest by the Pandaren, who at the time were still slaves to the Mogu. By an imperial order, Tsao granted them rights otherwise kept forbidden to them, and laid forth the foundation of what would one day become the Pandaren Revolution.
Biography[]
Tsao was born somewhere in the time frame 12,000 years before the opening of the Dark Portal. It is not known how he came to become Emperor, but going by his benevolent nature, it is likely he ascended to the throne in a nonviolent manner. Tsao's reign was seen as very unremarkable by Mogu standards, as he was neither a bloodthirsty warrior nor a iron-fisted tyrant. He did have exceptional skill and wisdom in administrative affairs, which was to the Mogu his only notable feat, but to the Pandaren, his legacy would be honored and everlasting. Tsao granted the enslaved people an imperial right to learn how to read, right, and establish their own schools. Some time later, during the Pandaren Revolution, while almost all other Mogu monuments across Pandaria were destroyed, the Pandaren left Tsao's statue untouched, even writing a memento of him in his honor.
Personality[]
Tsao was almost wholly unique among the Mogu. Brutal conquerors and tyrannical, greedy warmongers, the Mogu sought to subjugate all the other sentient races of Pandaria under their cruel rule, enslaving many, notably the Pandaren. Tsao was not influenced by any of this, and sought to make life better for not just his own kind, but the Pandaren as well. His imperial edict demonstrated great compassion that the Mogu notorously neither had nor cared for, and instead of trying to expand his empire as most Mogu Emperors would, he focused on internal affairs to better organize the structure of the society he oversaw.
