Eobard Thawne is a major antagonist turned supporting character in the Arrowverse, serving as a major character in Legends of Tomorrow and later reappearing as a supporting character in The Flash season 8. He is a time remnant of the main Eobard Thawne originated from Barry's accidental creation of Flashpoint.
Like his main counterpart, he was played by Matt Letscher.
Appearance[]
Eobard has brown short hair and wears a light blue colbert with a yellow tie and a scientist jacket and gray pants.
When getting his Super Speed he dons a yellow suit with black highlights and a red and black Flash logo.
Personality[]
Unlike the main one, Eobard started becoming more redeemable. When revived for the first time, he was trying to preserve a fixed point, and in his amnesiac state, he genuinely fell in love with Meena and was cooperative with Barry.
Eobard is very friendly towards the people he meets, he only got mad at Barry because Barry accused him of purposefully turning Meena evil.
Biography[]
Eobard was originally a supervillain who started out on the path as his original counterpart, but got pulled out of the timeline by Barry's accidental creation of Flashpoint.
After fixing the timeline, he was hunted down by the Black Flash due to being an abberation in the timeline that's not supposed to exist. To save himself from being erased, teams up with Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn to locate the Spear of Destiny to rewrite reality in their own image, forming the Legion of Doom. He also pulls a past version of Leonard Snart from before his death to join them in their plan.
The Legion's efforts prove successful as they assemble the Spear and create Doomworld; however, the Legends travel back in time to the moment the Spear was acquired to stop the Legion. Eobard follows them through time and manages to kill the Doomworld Legends except Sara, who depowers the Spear so it can never be used again. Just as Eobard is about to kill Sara, the Black Flash finally catches up with him and seemingly erases him from existence.
While it appears Eobard was erased from exitsence by the Black Flash, it's later revealed that the Time Wraiths actually sentenced him to be "The Fixer" in charge of guarding the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand while stripping him of his powers. He is found by Sara, who was trying to divert the assassination to lure robotic versions of the Legends who stole their Waverider. Eobard agrees to postpone the assassination, but in the process by the robot Sara. As he was dying, the real Sara finds him and he gives her his timeline monitor so she can be the new Fixer.
He got reincarnated with amnesia. He would later meet Meena Dhawan and work on his dreams with her, making her a speedster, later on Eobard would also become a speedster helping Barry defeat Negative Deon alongside Meena, after wich he tragically got killed by the original Eobard.
Trivia[]
- He is the only version of Eobard Thawne to be a hero.
- He could be seen as a good counterpart of Savitar. Both come from Flashpoint and are the time remnants of known speedsters. However, while Savitar is a corrupted version of Barry, Flashpoint Thawne became a redeemed version of Thawne.
- Ironically his predecessor also became a main antagonist.
