Erich Jaeger

Erich Jaeger is a character from the Ace Combat video game series, appearing as either a deuteragonist or a minor antagonist in Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere and a mentioned character in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. He is a Special Armed Response Force pilot serving Universal Peace Enforcement Organization, slowly growing disillusioned with it as he discovers the organization's true nature.

He was voiced by Souichiro Hoshi.

Erich Jaeger was born in 2016 to an Osean Air Defense Force pilot Jaeger, who expected to tell him many stories about what he saw during the war. He was raised in a middle-class household by loving parents and grew up impatient and somewhat spoiled. After graduating from Oxform University, Erich became a pilot and joined UPEO's armed wing SARF. Among his siblings in arms were Fiona Fitzgerald, with whom he seemed rather close, and the terminally ill ace pilot Rena Hirose.

Electrosphere[]

At the start of Simon Orestes Cohen's simulation, the artificial intelligence Nemo was assigned as another member of SARF. Jaeger would be the first one to talk to them about their new job.

UPEO route[]

Nemo, Erich, Fiona and Rena fought Neucom forces after they provoked General Resource. After a peace treaty between two companies was signed and then broken, this time by General Resource, the pilots had to fight its forces. During the conflict, Erich felt insulted whenever UPEO's efficiency at peacekeeping was questioned by others.

After repelling an attack on the plane carrying Delegate Clarkson and Fiona Fitzgerald by General forces, UPEO pilots received a message from Park claiming that Clarkson was a spy for Neucom, with the orders to shoot his plane down. Despite Erich's objections, the order was carried out by either Nemo or Rena. Erich would then realize that Park was manipulating the peacekeeping forces for his own needs, but kept serving him nonetheless, even as the villain provoked a full-scale war between General Resource and Neucom.

After Ouroboros revealed itself and Rena left to join their leader Dision, Erich and Nemo followed her. Seeing Rena turn on Dision and seemingly get killed by him for that, the two engaged Ouroboros members and shot down Dision's aircraft, with Erich landing the final blow.

After that, the two pilots would raid the UPEO headquarters and kill the fleeing Park. As they flew away to the parts unknown, they saw Rena who had survived her crash waving at them.

Other routes[]

If Nemo defects to General Resource, they may end up shooting Erich down during the attack on Clarkson's plane. If they refuse to shoot down his plane in the "UPEO" route and attack the allied reinforcements instead, they will defect to Neucom and never encounter Erich again, leaving his fate unknown.
