While Sonya was doing her best to heal Jax, Ermac fought with Sub-Zero and was defeated by him. Ermac reappears again in the second Mortal Kombat tournament, fighting and defeating Johnny Cage.
During the invasion on Earthrealm, Ermac joined the invasion. When Stryker tried to help Kabal after being heavily burnt by Kintaro, Ermac used his telekinesis and threw Stryker in the subway, Ermac approached Stryker and fought with him, but he ended up defeated again. When Cyber Sub-Zero was trying to save the Earthrealm prisoners, Ermac appeared and pushed all the Earthrealm prisoners back so that they would not escape. In his non canon ending after Ermac turned on Shao Kahn, all the souls that made his being struggled for his body, surprisingly only one managed to become the dominant soul, Ermac went to Outworld and found Sindel and Kitana, upon seeing them he revealed to be King Jerrod, the king decided to serve Sindel and all the Edenian people.
Mortal Kombat X[]
Ermac returns as an antagonist in Mortal Kombat X after the death of Shao Kahn he decided to serve Mileena, when D'Vorah revealed the truth about her, he betrayed the former empress and joined forces with Kotal Kahn. Ermac is among a entourage along with Erron Black and Outworld soldiers guarding Kotal's carriage. When Mileena's Tarkatan hordes attack the carriage, Ermac joins D'Vorah and Erron Black in fighting them off, killing numerous Tarkatans with his telekinetic powers.
Later, Ermac, Erron and Reptile investigated the deaths of two Outworld soldiers who were encharged with Shinnok's Amulet, discovering that D'Vorah was a traitor whom had killed them and stolen the amulet. Soon after, they are ambushed by Cassie Cage and her team, leading Reptile to believe that D'Vorah had set them free. Ermac and the others had the upper hand, and the amalgamation faced Takeda, with the boy being unable to use his telepathy on Ermac's many minds. However, Takeda was able to beat Ermac and the others. Reporting to Kotal, they relayed their mistaken belief that D'Vorah had set the Earthrealm prisoners free and taken the amulet to Raiden. In response, Kotal Kahn orders Ermac and the others to prepare his army for an invasion of Earthrealm, intending to steal the amulet back.
After arriving in an Earthrealm forest by portal, Ermac and the army encountered Cassie, Takeda, Kung Jin, and Jacqui, but the Earthrealmers manage to escape. As they venture deeper into the woods in search of Cassie and her friends, Ermac tells Kotal that he can sense their presence. Moments later, Cassie's team spring a surprise attack on Kotal's army, resulting in a long battle between the two.
