Eros is the Greek god of love. Early sources make him a Protogenoi, directly a son of Chaos. More late sources make him a younger deity, rather being the son of Aphrodite and Ares. He is depicted as a beautiful-looking naked teenager or preteen with bird wings, although his Roman counterpart, Cupid, is more represented as an infant. He also had a quiver full of arrows, which he could fire, and the victim would either fall in love or in hate with the first person he or she saw. Eros's sacred animal is the hare.
Eros had only one child, Hedone, with Psyche the charming maiden. Hedone was the goddess of pleasure, desire, and enjoyment. She was the only child of Psyche as well.

In the Aeneid he makes Dido fall in love with Aeneas.
