Espio the Chameleon is a supporting character in Sonic X.
He is a purple, anthropomorphic chameleon and a member of the Chaotix, a group of detectives who run the Chaotix Detective Agency.
He was voiced by David Wills in the English version of the anime, and by Yūki Masuda in the Japanese version.
History[]
Espio, along with the other Chaotix were teleported to earth by some sort of explosion that occurred in their office. Charmy later returned with the newspapers talking about Sonic and although he has some doubts as to what crimes they are doing, Espio agreed, nonetheless. They were then hired by Vanilla the Rabbit, to find her daughter, Cream the Rabbit. After a search, they believed she was a prisoner of Thorndyke Mansion. When Espio tried to enter, he was struck by Amy Rose's hammer while in one of her moods about Sonic and was subsequently left behind by the Chaotix after solving the case.
He later joins Sonic's team as a temporary ally to help save the galaxy from The Metarex, the primary main antagonist in the final season of the anime.
