And now time resumes!

I'm sorry guys, I don't know why I keep having these nightmares. I... guess I just need to make sense of it all. Sometimes, it feels like I'm losing my mind.
Esther: Well done, Ruby... You're really are my little gen.
Ruby: Nana!? I can't believe it!
Esther: It's so good to see you again, dear.
~ Esther reuniting with her granddaughter, Ruby.

Esther is the main protagonist of the Mr. Hopp's Playhouse series.

The protagonist is a young girl who has lost her parents and is now growing up as an orphan. Little does she know, a prophecy has foretold her destiny to conquer The Entity, a powerful and malevolent being known as the Fallen Guardian of Hope, who will ultimately become her greatest enemy. In a twist of fate, she also happens to be the grandmother of Ruby, adding another layer of complexity to her already extraordinary life.

Roles[]

She is the posthumous overarching protagonist in the original Mr. Hopp's Playhouse alongside the main protagonist of Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 and Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 3.

Appearance[]

During her younger years, Esther possessed a beautiful mane of brown hair and a pair of captivating brown eyes that seemed to sparkle with a mesmerizing allure. Her choice of attire consisted of garments in the enchanting shade of twilight blue, perfectly complemented by a matching hairband, exuding an air of elegance. Completing her ensemble were a pair of pristine white socks, adding a touch of pristine sophistication to her overall look. Interestingly, it was this very appearance that she would later revert back to when she found herself traversing the mysterious realms of the Underworld, which represents her pure soul.

During the later stages of her life, Esther's once vibrant hair had turned into a beautiful shade of gray, which she meticulously gathered and secured in an elegant bun. Her attire consisted of a crisp white shirt, adorned with a gracefully tailored green coat, complemented by a pair of sleek black pants. As she gracefully ambled through the streets, a trusted walking stick served as her loyal companion, providing both support and a sense of poise.

When Esther transforms into her ascended state, she undergoes a remarkable metamorphosis, resembling a celestial and formidable entity. While the majority of her physical features remain unchanged, there are notable differences. Her once-colored hair and attire now radiate a pristine white hue, and her mesmerizing golden eyes captivate all who behold them. These eyes, brimming with intense emotions, have the ability to emit a luminous glow, illuminating her surroundings. To further accentuate her ethereal presence, Esther is encased in a captivating aura of electric energy, which pulsates with her every emotion. Additionally, her newfound ascended form grants her the possession of elegant, elongated brown horns, a striking testament to her enhanced power. Furthermore, she has the astonishing capability to sprout a magnificent pair of angelic wings, symbolizing her transcendence into a higher realm.

Personality[]

During her childhood, Esther was generally reserved in her demeanor, although she could act rather sardonic when pushed enough. She took pleasure in engaging in games and enjoying herself with her companions. Displaying exemplary principles, she adhered to the regulations set in place at the Blacklands Manor Orphanage, yet occasionally exhibited a propensity for disobedience. When confronted by the Entity, Isabelle, and the Three Curses, Esther exhibited a remarkable strength, resisting their attempts to manipulate and coerce her. While she showcased a considerable amount of courage, she also displayed signs of fear, often becoming frightened and startled by their presence and attacks. Initially, Esther vehemently denied the existence of these entities, but eventually came to the realization that her beliefs were unfounded. Additionally, Esther showcased a commendable level of resourcefulness, skillfully devising innovative solutions to overcome her challenges.

Esther's encounters with the Entity and its subordinates had evidently instilled within her a newfound sense of bravery. She exhibited a remarkable absence of fear whenever their presence was felt, fearlessly engaging in battle with them and demonstrating remarkable skill and expertise.

History[]

Past[]

Despite the absence of her birth parents, Esther never succumbed to a sense of despair or bitterness. Instead, she embraced her circumstances with unwavering resilience and an indomitable spirit. Through the guidance of the caring staff at the orphanage, Esther discovered her innate strengths and honed her skills, gradually blossoming into an exceptional young woman. Esther's origin story begins with her parents, Arthur and Faith. Before Esther was even born, her mother, Faith, experienced recurring nightmares that would haunt her. These eerie dreams seemed to foretell of a looming danger surrounding their unborn child. In a twist of fate, Faith's premonitions would tragically come true as she passed away during Esther's birth. Within the confines of Blacklands Manor Orphanage, Esther found solace amidst a sea of unfamiliar faces. She spent a considerable portion of her formative years surrounded by other children who, like her, were also bereft of their biological parents. The orphanage became her sanctuary, a place where she learned to navigate the complexities of life while forging unlikely bonds with her fellow orphans. Left alone to raise their child, Arthur found himself in a perplexing situation. For reasons unbeknownst to anyone, he made the heart-wrenching decision to surrender Esther to the care of the Blacklands Manor Orphanage, a renowned institution located in the United Kingdom. This pivotal moment would shape the course of Esther's early life, as she became a resident of the orphanage and grew up within its walls.

As time went on, Esther's path intertwined with countless individuals who entered and exited the walls of Blacklands Manor Orphanage. Each encounter left an indelible mark on her, shaping her character and broadening her perspective on the world. These experiences, both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, instilled within Esther an unwavering determination to make the most of her life and to seek out the truth of her past. The story of Esther's early years at Blacklands Manor Orphanage is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of hope. Through the darkness of her mother's nightmares and the tragic loss of her parents, Esther emerged as a beacon of light, defying the odds and forging her own destiny. Her journey, though fraught with challenges and uncertainties, would ultimately lead her on a path towards self-discovery, love, and a profound understanding of the true meaning of family.

Mr. Hopp Playhouse 2[]

At a certain point in time, Esther began experiencing recurring and nightmarish dreams whenever she would drift off to sleep. Shortly thereafter, she was gifted a stuffed rabbit named Mr. Hopp through a generous donation. Esther's companions, Molly and Isaac, also received stuffed animals of their own, whom they affectionately named Miss Bo and Mr. Stripes. Strangely enough, peculiar occurrences began to unfold in Esther's presence, escalating to the point where her friends mysteriously vanished. Undeterred, Esther courageously confronted an array of daunting challenges and terrifying horrors, including the very stuffed animals she had received. Unbeknownst to her, these seemingly innocent toys were actually diabolical creations known as the Three Curses, who were manipulated by a ruthless and devilish entity known as the Entity, alongside its wicked accomplice, Isabelle. However, through a sequence of unexplained events and the acquisition of enigmatic medallions, Esther found herself transported to the malevolent domain of the villain, known as the Underworld. It was within this sinister realm that she obtained a mystical necklace with the power to repel the Entity, Isabelle, and their nefarious schemes. With this newfound ability, Esther valiantly confronted a monstrous beast with three heads, composed of the Three Curses. With unwavering determination, she ultimately vanquished the Entity and Isabelle, liberating herself from their clutches. Upon returning to the realm of reality, Esther was overjoyed to discover that her friends had been restored and reunited with her. Although her life seemed to return to its previous state of normalcy, Esther continued to possess the enchanted necklace, serving as a constant reminder of her extraordinary journey and the battles she had conquered.

Later Years[]

Following the occurrences at the orphanage, Esther had managed to leave it all behind and push the memories of Mr. Hopp to the back of her mind. Although there was a possibility that Esther had been adopted, her foster parents showed little to no interest in caring for her well-being. Undeterred by her difficult upbringing, Esther would go on to experience the joys of motherhood, giving birth to a daughter named Jenna. As time went on, Jenna would later become a mother herself, welcoming a beautiful daughter into the world named Ruby. Now a grandmother, Esther took great pleasure in using her creative talents to sew an assortment of clothes and craft various toys for her beloved granddaughter Ruby.

Utilizing the extraordinary abilities bestowed upon her by the Six, Esther successfully confined the Entity and his minions within the depths of the Underworld. Nevertheless, after the passage of sixty-seven years, Esther's physical strength waned and her advanced age rendered her vulnerable, allowing the nefarious beings to break free from their imprisonment. Driven by a deep-seated thirst for revenge, the Entity seized control of Esther's body, intending to exploit her connection to her own family for his sinister purposes. As the Entity's influence took hold, Esther's health began to deteriorate, leading to a decline in her personal hygiene and a disheveled state within her home. She would often become lost in her own thoughts, fixated on an empty wall, requiring forceful intervention to snap her out of her trance-like state. Disturbing screams emanating from Esther's residence alarmed her neighbors, prompting her eventual admission to a hospital. When her loved ones arrived at the medical facility to visit her, they were greeted by a disturbing spectacle: under the Entity's control, Esther presented Ruby with Mr. Hopp, a cherished possession. Tragically, Esther's life seemingly came to an abrupt end within the confines of the hospital, with doctors unable to ascertain the cause of her sudden demise. However, unbeknownst to them, Esther had actually been transported to the depths of the Underworld by the Entity, where she remained captive, her true fate concealed from the mortal realm.Following the occurrences at the orphanage, Esther had managed to leave it all behind and push the memories of Mr. Hopp to the back of her mind. Mr. Hopps Playhouse 1[]

In Ruby's residence, she stumbles upon a plethora of tapes that contain valuable information about Esther. As the game progresses, just as it nears its conclusion, an unexpected twist unfolds when Mr. Hopp cunningly employs what appears to be a ghostly apparition of Esther, using it as a ploy to entice Ruby towards him before embarking on a relentless pursuit.

Mr. Hopps Playhouse 3[]

Shortly after arriving in the Underworld, Esther's granddaughter would stumble upon her presence. Ruby would come across Esther in a state of unconsciousness, her body tightly bound by unfamiliar, vine-like creations. But with a bit of clever problem-solving, Ruby manages to free Esther from her restraints. United, the two of them embark on a treacherous journey through the Underworld, facing off against the Entity and its multitude of horrifying creatures. Despite the countless challenges they face, Esther and Ruby eventually succeed in gathering most of the Six, a significant feat in their mission. However, their triumph is short-lived as they are abruptly separated in the chaos. When Esther eventually reunites with Ruby, she makes a shocking discovery – Ruby possesses the last remaining medallion, but she has been cunningly manipulated by the Entity. The twisted being falsely convinces Ruby that Esther is to blame for the existence of Mr. Hopp, the malevolent puppet. Overwhelmed by this revelation, Esther finds herself immobilized and desperately tries to explain her actions. She truthfully reveals that the Entity had been controlling her actions during that crucial period. The outcome of this dire situation is contingent upon the player's performance within the game, leading to two distinct endings.

In the Bad Ending, Ruby finds herself rendered helpless, unable to take any action, as she bears witness to the Entity harnessing its immense power to utterly obliterate Esther, leaving Ruby bereft of her beloved family. The heart-wrenching aftermath sees Ruby being cruelly thrust back to her own reality, a desolate existence where she is left to navigate life's challenges without the comforting presence and support of her family members.

In the Good Ending, Ruby will trust Esther's words and throw her the final medallion. As a result, the Entity launches a ferocious attack on Ruby due to her change of heart. This angers Esther, who transforms into an angelic being and engages in a fierce battle with the Entity. Astonishingly, Esther manages to overcome the Entity and heals Ruby's injuries. Before bidding farewell, Esther shares a heartfelt moment with her granddaughter and discloses her decision to remain in the Underworld. She believes that the realm requires a ruler to maintain order and keep its countless souls in check. Despite this, Esther assures Ruby that her parents have also been restored and that she will always watch over her. Ruby returns home, while Esther assumes control over the Entity and bravely confronts the multitude of restless spirits in the Underworld.

Esther: Ruby! (Esther uses her medallions to destroy the vines holding her captive before rushing to Ruby.) Ruby, can you hear me?! Say something!
